", "TITLE, " "COMMENT, " or "TIME STAMP" at the top of the scene list and COMMENT field. The list will be sorted as follows, according to the location you pressed. 6 To enable/disable the protect setting, press the protect symbol. A protect symbol is displayed for write-protected scenes; these scenes cannot be overwritten. PSS-290 Owner's Manual 141 Scene memory · You cannot edit the title or comment of a read-only scene or a write-protected scene. 12 Editing scene memories Scene memory editing The scenes stored in scene memory can be copied/pasted to other scene numbers, or cleared (erased). Copying/pasting a scene Here's how to copy a scene into buffer memory, and then paste it to a different scene number. HINT 1 Press the SCENE field in the function access area. The SCENE LIST window will appear, where you can perform various operations for scene memory. Scene memories are edited using the buttons shown in the upper part of the SCENE LIST window. Each button has the following function. · The Global Paste function enables you to copy any channel or any parameter settings for the current scene, then paste the data to any single or multiple scene data in memory ( p. 145). 1 Press the SCENE field in the function access area. The SCENE LIST window will appear. 1 2 3 4 5 6 2 Turn any one of the multifunction encoders to select the copy-source scene number, and then press the COPY button. A dialog box will ask you to confirm the Copy operation. 1 COPY button Copies a scene into a memory buffer (a temporary storage area). For details on how to use this, refer to "Copying/pasting a scene" that follows. B PASTE button This button pastes a scene (previously copied into the memory buffer) into another scene number. For details on how to use this, refer to "Copying/pasting a scene" that follows. 3 To execute the copy, press the OK button. NOTE C CLEAR button This button clears (erases) the selected scene. For details on how to use this, refer to "Clearing a scene" ( p. 143). The scene you selected in step 2 will be saved in the buffer memory. D CUT button Cuts a scene and places it in the memory buffer. For details on how to use this, refer to "Cutting a scene" ( p. dow, press the GLOBAL PASTE button to access the GLOBAL PASTE window. Select the input channel in the upper left, and its parameters in the lower left. You can select the following parameters. You can select the following parameters. 3 Use the tabs to select the items to be copied from the following choices. INPUT OUTPUT RACK PATCH/NAME Input channels and parameters Output channels and parameters RACK 1­8 Input/output patching and channel names ALL ATT EQ DYNA1 MATRIX ON MATRIX SEND FADER CH ON WITH MIX SEND WITH MATRIX SEND All output channel parameters (except OUTPUT PATCH and OUTPUT NAME) Attenuator EQ settings Dynamics 1 settings (including KEY IN SOURCE and KEY IN FILTER) Send to MATRIX bus on/off (only for MIX and STEREO/MONO channels) Send level to MATRIX bus, pan, PRE/POST (only for MIX and STEREO/MONO channels) Fader level [ON] key on/off status Selects whether the send level sent from input channels to the selected MIX bus will be included in the pasted data. PATCH/NAME tab 6 Press the PASTE button. Select from INPUT PATCH, INPUT NAME, OUTPUT PATCH, and OUTPUT NAME. 5 In the DESTINATION SCENE area, select the range of paste-destination scenes. The data will be pasted to all scenes in the range between FROM and TO. Use multi-function encoder 7 to select FROM, and multi-function encoder 8 to select TO. The selected items of the current scene will be pasted to the scene(s) in memory. A progress bar will be shown while the Paste operation is being performed. The STOP button is shown while the Paste function is being executed; you can stop by pressing this button. In this case, the Paste function will have been partially executed, and the data cannot be restored to its previous state. 146 PSS-290 Owner's Manual Using the Focus function Using the Focus function "Focus" is a function that lets you specify the parameters that will be updated when you recall a scene. For example, it is convenient to use this if you want to recall only the input channel settings of a certain scene. HINT · As a function similar to Focus, there is also a "Recall Safe" function that lets you select channels and parameters to be excluded from recall operations ( p. However while the Focus function is specified for each scene, Recall Safe settings are common to all scenes. 1 Press the SCENE field in the function access area. The SCENE LIST window will appear, where you can perform various operations for scene memory. 3 Use the buttons other than "ALL" to select the parameters that will be subject to recall for each scene. These buttons correspond to the following parameters (multiple selections are allowed). Button name RACK HA Corresponding parameters Rack settings Head amp settings Input channel patching Output channel patching Input channel parameters (including DCA group settings) Output channel parameters On/off status and send level settings for signals sent from input channels to MIX buses and MATRIX bus (shown only if the OUT button is on) 1 2 1 SCENE field B FOCUS tab IN PATCH OUT PATCH IN OUT WITH SEND 2 Press the FOCUS tab at the bottom of the SCENE LIST window. The FOCUS field will appear in the right half of the SCENE LIST window. HINT 12 Scene memory · The WITH SEND button is shown only if the OUT button is on. However if both the IN button and OUT button are on, the parameters corresponding to WITH SEND will automatically be subject to recall. 1 4 If you want to cancel the restrictions you specified in step 3, so that all parameters will be subject to recall, turn the ALL button on. When you turn on the ALL button, all other buttons for that scene will be turned off.
