[. . . ] Press 7 TUNING AUTO/MAN'L so that the AUTO indicator disappears from the front panel display. 2 3 A AM 1440 kHz No colon (:) If a colon (:) appears in the front panel display, automatic tuning is not possible. Press 2 PRESET/ TUNING to turn the colon (:) off. A AM 1440 kHz No colon (:) 4 Press 5 PRESET/TUNING/CH l / h once to begin automatic tuning. When this unit is tuned into a station, the TUNED indicator lights up and the frequency of the received station is shown in the front panel display. Lights up AUTO TUNED If a colon (:) appears in the front panel display, manual tuning is not possible. Press 2 PRESET/ TUNING to turn the colon (:) off. 4 Press 5 PRESET/TUNING/CH l / h to tune into the desired station manually. You can hold down the button to continue searching. A AM 1530 kHz 34 En FM/AM tuning Automatic preset tuning You can use the automatic preset tuning feature to store FM stations with strong signals up to 40 (A1 to E8: 8 preset station numbers in each of the 5 preset station groups) of those stations in order. You can then recall any preset station easily by selecting the preset station number. Manual preset tuning You can also store up to 40 stations (A1 to E8: 8 preset station numbers in each of the 5 preset station groups) manually. 1 2 1 Press D INPUT l / h repeatedly so that "TUNER" is displayed in the front panel display. The preset station number as well as the MEMORY and AUTO indicators flashes. After approximately 5 seconds, automatic presetting starts from the current frequency and proceeds toward the higher frequencies. Flash AUTO MEMORY Tune into a station automatically or manually. The MEMORY indicator flashes in the front panel display for approximately 10 seconds. Press 4 A/B/C/D/E and 5 PRESET/ TUNING/CH l / h repeatedly to select a preset station group (A1 to E8) while the MEMORY indicator is flashing. Check that the colon (:) appears in the front panel display. Flashes TUNED MEMORY 2 3 3 BASIC OPERATION C3 : AM 4 630 kHz Preset station number A1:FM 87. 50MHz Flashes When automatic preset tuning is completed, the front panel display shows the frequency of the last preset station. y You can select the preset station group and the preset station number where the first received station will be stored by pressing 4 A/B/C/D/E and then 5 PRESET/TUNING/CH l / h. Press 6 MEMORY while the MEMORY indicator is flashing. The station band and frequency appear in the front panel display with the preset station group and number you have selected. TUNED C3 : AM Notes 630 kHz Notes · Any stored station data existing under a preset station number is cleared when you store a new station under the same preset station number. · Only FM stations with sufficient signal strength are stored automatically by automatic preset tuning. If the station you want to store is weak in signal strength, tune into it manually and store it as described in "Manual preset tuning" on this page. The displayed station has been stored as C3. · Any stored station data existing under a preset station number is cleared when you store a new station under the same preset station number. · The reception mode (stereo or monaural) is stored along with the station frequency. English 35 En FM/AM tuning Selecting preset stations You can tune into any desired station simply by selecting the preset station group and number under which it was stored. y When performing this operation with the remote control, press C TUNER to select "TUNER" as the input source. Exchanging preset stations You can exchange the assignments of two preset stations with each other. The example below describes the procedure to exchange preset station "E1" with "A5". 1 1 Press 4 A/B/C/D/E (or G A-E/CAT. l / h) repeatedly to select the desired preset station group (A to E). The preset station group letter appears in the front panel display and changes each time you press the button. Press 5 PRESET/TUNING/CH l / h (or G PRESET/CH k / n) to select the desired preset station number (1 to 8). The preset station group and number appear in the front panel display along with the station band and frequency. Select preset station "E1" using 4 A/B/C/D/E and 5 PRESET/TUNING/CH l / h.
