[. . . ] YDP-161 YDP-141 Owner's Manual For information on assembling the keyboard stand, refer to the instructions at the end of this manual. IMPORTANT -- Check your power supply -- (YDP-161) Make sure that your local AC mains voltage matches the voltage specified on the name plate on the bottom panel. In some areas a voltage selector may be provided on the bottom panel of the main keyboard unit near the power cord. Make sure that the voltage selector is set for the voltage in your area. The voltage selector is set at 240V when the unit is initially shipped. [. . . ] This instrument's recording capacity is 100 KB (approximately 11, 000 notes). or Recording the left part ([­ L]) The [REC] button indicator and the selected part button indicator will flash at the currently-selected tempo. (It may take a moment before the indicator starts to flash. ) Press the [REC] button again if you wish to cancel Record mode. Turning the playback part on and off If data has already been recorded in the [+ R] and/or [­ L] part, the indicator for the part(s) will light up, and the data in the part(s) will start playing back as soon as you start recording your performance. If you do not want to hear the part playback, hold down the [PLAY] button and press the button ([+ R] or [­ L]) for the part you want to mute. Pressing the part buttons toggles part playback on and off. YDP-161/141 Owner's Manual 23 ENGLISH Recording Your Performance 3 ENGLISH Start recording. Recording starts as soon as you play the keyboard. The [REC] button indicator lights up steadily, and the indicator for the recording part flashes at the current tempo. (If data exists in the part you are not recording, the corresponding part indicator lights up. ) 4 Press either the [REC] or [PLAY] button to stop recording. When recording is stopped, all indicators (for the [REC], [PLAY], [+ R] and [­ L] buttons) will flash, indicating that the recorded data is being saved to the instrument. After the data is saved, the button indicator for the recorded part will light up steadily, indicating that the part now contains data. Record Ready mode will automatically be cancelled. NOTICE Do not turn off the power to this instrument while it is recording the data in its internal memory (that is, while all button indicators are flashing). Otherwise, all recorded data, including the data being recorded, will be lost. Changing the settings for the recorded user song The initial settings (data recorded at the beginning of a song) can be changed after recording. If you wish to change the voice of the user song, before pressing the [REC] button, select a different voice. Then, simultaneously press the [REC] button and the button for the part whose initial settings you want to change. Without playing the keyboard, press the [REC] button again to apply the change(s) to the song. If you wish to change the tempo, do so after the unit enters Record mode. Individual Parts · Voice selection · Reverb depth · Dual voices · Damper/soft pedal depth Entire Song · Tempo · [REVERB] type (including OFF) If the metronome was on when you started recording, you'll be able to keep time with the metronome while recording, but the metronome sound will not be recorded. You can also load the user song data from a computer and play it back on this instrument. (page 28) 24 YDP-161/141 Owner's Manual Recording Your Performance Playing Back Recorded Performance Data Press the [PLAY] button. The [PLAY] button indicator and the indicator for the part that contains data light up, and the recorded part starts playing back. If the user song contains no data, pressing the [PLAY] button will not start playback. The parts can be turned on or off individually during playback. Refer to the procedure on page 26. 2 Press the [PLAY] button to stop the playback When the user song finishes playing back, this instrument automatically returns to the previous mode. To stop playback in the middle of a song, press the SONG [PLAY] button. Erasing Recorded Performance Data You can erase the entire recorded user song (including both [+ R] and [­ L] part). 1 2 Press the [REC] button to engage Record Ready mode. The [REC] and [+ R] button indicators flash. If the left part ([­ L]) contains data, [­ L] button indicator lights up. While holding down the [PLAY] button, press the [REC] button to engage Erase Ready mode. The [REC], [PLAY], [+ R] and [­ L] button indicators flash. To cancel the erase operation, press any button whose indicator is NOT flashing (such as the [DEMO/SONG], [PIANO/VOICE] or [METRONOME] button). 3 Press the [REC], [PLAY], [+ R] or [­ L] button to erase recorded performance data. The [REC], [PLAY], [+ R] and [­ L] button indicators light up in turn from top to bottom. All button indicators turn off after data is erased. Erasing individual part data Hold down the [REC] button and press the [+ R] or [­ L] button to engage Part Record Ready mode. (See step 2 on page 23. ) Press the [PLAY] button to start recording. Without playing the keyboard, press the [PLAY] or [REC] button to stop recording.
