You will then be asked to input a 10 digit phone number and to record your message after the tone. You can hear the recorded message by pressing the Parent's Message button on the handset or the Dial a Number button on the main phone. PLAY BUTTON This button has the same function as pressing the Play button on the main phone unit. PARENT'S MESSAGE BUTTON Press this button to play back your recorded message. If there is no recorded message, you will hear the phrase "There is nobody on the phone. " AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF To preserve battery life, the VTech@ Light-Up Learning PhoneTM will automatically turn off after several minutes without input. When the low battery indicator appears on the screen, the unit will automatically turn off. NOTE ABOUT HANDSET TRANSMISSION TO MAIN PHONE UNIT The infrared sensor works within 3 inches and 30 degrees of distance. Please avoid playing under direct sunlight since this can also affect the signal.
