Point the diode side of the remote set to the front panel of the pre-amplifier, make sure there are no objects between the remote set and the device. Do not point from an angle greater than 30 degrees from the middle axis. Change the batteries when the distance of reliable operation is shortening. The cells must be inserted respecting the correct polarity as seen on the plan inside the battery housing. For longlife operation do not mix old batteries and new ones and use the same battery type (for example alcaline). remove batteries when not using the remote control for an extended period. Used batteries are hazardous waste and must be disposed of according to local regulations. Level und Level : Volume buttons Control the level of the output signal and thus the volume of loudspeakers and headphones in your system. Your loudspeakers will be connected to the main amplifier, your audio sources to the pre-amplifier. To achieve best performance only quality interconnection cables as produced by Vincent should be utilized. Connections Input connectors for audio source devices and output connectors for the main amplifier are mechanically identical RCA jacks that must not be interchanged! If both connected devices use the same type, the signal connection is correct (Always, if both devices have been produced by Vincent). For the connection of two devices using the opposite system a different cable must be used to avoid inverting of both channel signals. Connect carefully Contacting the middle pin of the RCA plugs at the pre/main interconnection cable with the outer ring of the RCA chassis jack may lead to damages to the main amplifier if it is active! To avoid this hazard, connect or disconnect both devices only in switchedoff state and more than one minute after deactivating! [. . . ] Net frequency noise Some audio source devices may together with the amplifier cause a humming noise at powerline frequency audible from your speakers. Usually its volume is variable with the volume setting of the amplifier. This is no sign of a defect or fault of your audio products but has to be eliminated. Generally, every wall-powered device connected to the ground wire of the power plug can cause this problem when connected to the amplifier. [. . . ]
