Warrantor, at its option, may replace the unit with a new or refurbished unit. Plug one end of the AC adapter into the wall outlet and the other end into the dropin charger. Attaching the Antenna Attach the antenna to the HH955. Be sure the antenna is firmly seated. 5 Attaching the Battery Pack 1. Slide the battery pack onto the bottom of the radio. Be sure the battery pack fits tightly against the HH955's body. 6 Charging the Battery Pack Your marine radio is powered by a specially designed nickel-cadmium battery pack or an Alkaline battery pack. (Alkaline batteries not included) + Before operating the HH955, charge the nickel-cadmium battery pack for 15 hours without interruption in the drop-in charger. To turn off NWR-SAME Alert, press and hold the WX/ALERT button for 2 seconds. + This feature is effective in the weather channel mode only. 13 Registering FIPS Code Six digit FIPS Codes are programmable in 15 channels, Number 1~15 for NWR-SAME Weather Alert. Contact the National Weather Service at 1-888-NWR-SAME for the FIPS Codes in the area of interest, or visit www. noaa. gov/nwr/indexnw. Select the channel, numbers 1~15, you want to program using the s or t key. To enter the first digit of the code, change the left blinking digit on the display using the s or t key and press the MEM key. To enter the second digit of the code, change the right blinking digit on the display using the s or t key and press the MEM key. The entered digit moves to the left and the right digit starts to blink. After the last digit registers, the entered code appears on the display automatically for confirmation. + Pressing the MEM key for more than 2 second in the middle of the above steps prevents registration. 14 USA, International and Canadian Channels 1. The HH955 is initially set for USA marine channels when you turn on your radio. The radio will keep the last mode setting that was selected when turned back on. [. . . ] (Refer to the description of the Battery Indicator on the next page. ) 16 Lighted Keys and Display To light the display and keypad for about 5 seconds, press the Light/Lock key or any other key excluding the TX key. + If you press any button other than the Light/Lock key while the display and keypad are lit, it remains in the lit status for another 5 seconds. Battery Indicator When the unit is on, battery power is always indicated on the display. When the battery is fully charged, the battery indicator appears as follows: When the battery is nearly discharged, the battery indicator appears as follows: + When the battery indicator drops to the 1-mark level on the display, the radio will receive but will not transmit.
