[. . . ] Step 1 Checking the Package Contents Make sure your cordless phone`s packaging includes the following items (the number of items may vary depending on model number within the series). If any of these items are missing or damaged, contact the Uniden Parts Department. · Base Unit · Handset(s) · AC Adapter(s) · Rechargeable Battery Pack(s) · Telephone Cord · Belt Clip(s) · Owner's Manual · Other Printed Materials Step 2 Install and Charge the Handset Battery TO INSTALL THE HANDSET BATTERY (see page 12 for details) Charge the handset battery pack for at least 15-20 hours before using your new cordless telephone for the first time!Use only the Uniden rechargeable battery pack supplied with your new phone. [. . . ] Press a number key (2-9 and 0) once for the first letter, press twice for the second letter, and so on. Press ring/vol/ or ring/vol/, until the phonebook location is displayed. note During a call, don't press end or the call will be disconnected. 3) To finish the viewing operation, press end (or phonebook during a call). You can also store a group of numbers (up to 20 digits), that you need to enter once your call connects. Store the account or special number in one of the phonebook locations. (This includes some international calls. ) ·When the call is via a private branch exchange (PBX), the caller's phone number and name may not appear. CALLER ID You must subscribe to Caller ID services through your local telephone provider to use these features. When the telephone rings, the Caller ID feature allows you to view the caller's name, and phone number along with the date and time of call. With CIDCW (Caller ID on Call Waiting), you will hear a call waiting tone while you are on a call, and the Caller ID data is displayed. Additionally, you can dial a number stored in the Caller ID list or save data to your Phonebook locations. Important: Memory locations for Caller ID messages and Phonebook locations (including Speed Dials) are common, you can store up to 100 in total. A Caller ID message is not stored when you have stored 100 of the phonebook locations. PRECAUTIONS & WA R R A N T Y Connecting the Telephone Cords Consider these safety guidelines before connecting the telephone cords: Caution!· Never touch uninsulated telephone wires or terminals unless the telephone line has been disconnected. · Use caution when installing or modifying telephone lines. More than One Cordless Telephone If you want to use more than one cordless telephone in your home, they must operate on different channels. Press the channel key to select a channel that provides the clearest communication.
