[. . . ] Select Store when using a television for displaying in a shop, etc. Repeat as necessary, then press EXIT. a b Select Location from the SET UP menu. Press C or c to select Home or Store. Auto Tuning NOTE: As new services are broadcast it will be necessary to retune the television in order to view them. Auto tuning will completely re-tune the television and can be used to update the channel list. It is recommended that Auto tuning is run periodically to ensure that all new services are added. All current channels and settings will be lost. a Press MENU and use C or c to select SET UP menu. Press Q. 15 CONTROLS AND FEATURES English General controls Selecting Positions To select a position, use the numbered buttons on the remote control. Press again to cancel. Quick Menu Quick Menu helps you access some options quickly, such as Picture Mode, Picture Size, Sleep timer etc. Press QUICK to display the Quick Menu and use B or b to select the option. Channel List You can select a channel from Channel List. a b Press QUICK to open the Quick Menu. NOTE: Quick Menu items are different depending on the current mode. Time Display Time display facility allows the current (text service) time to be seen on the television screen. Press D whilst watching a normal television broadcast to see a time display from the broadcaster. Press B and b to select an option, then C or c to adjust the settings. The options alter depending on currently selected widescreen format and the input signal. In Cinema: b Using b to highlight Picture Mode, then press C or c to select your preference from AutoView*, Dynamic, Standard, Mild, Movie, Game or PC. To return to the original factory settings select Reset in the Picture position menu and press Q. NOTE: The picture mode you select affects the current input only. You can select a different picture mode for each input. * LV6**P and RV6**P Series only 20 CONTROLS AND FEATURES English Picture Preferences You can customise current picture mode settings as desired. For example, while selecting "Dynamic, " if you change the following items, such as Backlight, Contrast, Brightness, Colour, Tint, Sharpness and the Picture settings items, your new setting is saved as the same name "Dynamic. " Colour Temperature Colour Temperature increases the `warmth' or `coolness' of the picture by increasing the red or blue tint. a b c In the Picture settings menu press b to select Colour Temperature and press Q. Press b to select Colour Temperature and press C or c to select between Warm, Natural or Cool to suit your preference. a b In the Picture Settings menu press b to select either Backlight, Contrast, Brightness, Colour, Tint or Sharpness. Press C or c to adjust the settings. Black/White Level Black/White Level increases the strength of dark areas of the picture to improve the definition. a b In the Picture settings menu press b to select Black/ White Level. The effect depends on the broadcast and is most noticeable on dark colours. d e Press B or b to select an option you want to adjust, then press C or c to adjust the settings. Press EXIT to return to the previous menu. Cinema Mode If there are lines or jagged edges in the film or programme being viewed, selecting Cinema mode can help correct this by smoothing out the picture. NOTE: If Picture Mode is set to AutoView, you can adjust Colour Temperature only*. a b In the Picture settings menu press b to select Cinema mode. Press C or c to select On or Off. NOTE: When a DVD with subtitles is being played this mode may not work correctly. * LV6**P and RV6**P Series only 21 CONTROLS AND FEATURES English Resetting the Picture Settings This feature enables to reset the current Picture settings to the default values. Base Colour Adjustment The Base colour adjustment feature allows the adjustment of individual colours to suit personal preference. This can be useful when using an external source. a b In the Picture settings menu press b to select Reset. [. . . ] Check that the batteries aren't dead or inserted incorrectly. Why is there a picture but no sound? Check all lead connections. Check the volume has not been turned down or that sound mute has not been selected. Why are there vertical stripes on the screen when in PC mode? The Sampling clock may need adjustment. Select PC Setting from the SET UP menu, highlight Sampling clock and adjust until the lines clear. * RV6**P Series only 34 PROBLEM SOLVING English Q A Q A Q A Q A a b Why are there horizontal stripes and/or blurred images on the screen when in PC mode? The Clock phase may need adjustment. Select PC Setting from the SET UP menu, highlight Clock phase and adjust until the picture clears.
