CAUTION RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK DO NOT OPEN CAUTION: The apparatus should not be exposed to water (dripping or splashing) and no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, should be placed on the apparatus. FCC WARNING: This equipment may generate or use radio frequency energy. Changes or modifications to this equipment may cause harmful interference unless the modifications are expressly approved in the instruction manual. The user could lose the authority to operate this equipment if an unauthorized change or modification is made. [. . . ] Should this occur, select a more appropriate DNR level (normal or off). · Depending on the disc, some picture detail may be lost by the picture enhancement. 24 Operation Playback Setup Turn on the TV and select the video input source connected to the DVD Home Theater System. TO SELECT A PLAYBACK DISC Press DISC and press desired disc button (DISC 1-5) on the remote control. Notes: · To ensure good system performance, wait until the disc tray completely read the disc(s) before proceeding. · The DVD Home Theater System is only able to read the status of the current selected disc tray. TO INSERT DISCS 1. The selected disc tray number will appear in the display window and on the TV screen. Place a disc. Label side up When placing an 8 cm (3 inches) disc TO REPLACE DISCS DURING PLAYBACK You are able to replace or load a disc into the other four trays without interrupting current playback. While playback, press OPEN/CLOSE and press the desired DISC (1-5) on the unit to open disc tray (refer to "TO INSERT DISCS). Notes: · If you press OPEN/CLOSE of the active disc tray, the disc will stop playing and the disc tray will slide out. · Do not place more than one compact disc on one disc tray at the same time. · Do not push the drawer to close as you may damage the unit. Disc tray Drawer 4. In some cases, the disc menu might appear instead: TO PLAY ALL DISCS ON THE DISC TRAYS CD 2 Press PLAY(2) on the remote control or on the unit. Tip: During playback, track number and elapsed playing time of the current track will appear in the display window. Note: · This function is not available during Repeat playback or Programmed playback mode. TO OPEN ALL DISCS Press EJECT ALL on the unit to open all disc trays in the drawer during playback or stop. You can check a disc in the disc tray. 25 Operation Playing a DVD or Video CD DVD General Features Note: · Unless stated otherwise, all operations described use the remote control. Some features may also be available on the Setup menu. Use the b B v V buttons to select the title/chapter you want to view, then press ENTER to start. Press TOP MENU or MENU to return to the menu screen. VCD MOVING TO ANOTHER TITLE DVD Use the number buttons to select the track you want to view and press RETURN to return to the menu screen. Notes: · If parental control is set and the disc is not within the rating settings you must input the password. Your receiver does not play discs that have a region code different from your unit. The region code for this receiver is 1 (one). When a disc has more than one title, you can move to another title. Press DISPLAY while playback is stopped followed by the appropriate number (0-9) or use b / B to move to another title. You can play any title by inputting its number while playback is stopped. MOVING TO ANOTHER CHAPTER/TRACK DVD VCD When a title on a disc has more than one chapter or a disc has more than one track, you can move to another chapter/track as follows: · Press SKIP . or > briefly during playback to select the next chapter/track or to return to the beginning of the current chapter/track. To go directly to any chapter during DVD playback, press DISPLAY and press v / V to select the chapter/track icon.
