[. . . ] Disconnect the following five cables: · LCD cable from PJ4 · FL cable from PJ5 · Membrane switch cable from PJ10 · Left speaker cable from PJ303 · Right speaker cable from PJ304 5. Lift up the back and left side of the top cover and display assembly about 1 cm to release the left latch on the front (arrow and ). Rotate the top cover and display assembly forward to release the right latch and remove it (arrow ). Remove the plastic stud on the system board. ê è î To remove the HDD/battery board, follow the steps below. Push the insulator out from a tongue on the HDD/battery board to clear the battery cable. Disconnect the following two cables from the connectors on the HDD/ battery board: · HDD cable from PJ750 · Battery cable from PJ753 5. Lift up the HDD/battery board and disconnect the sensor cable from PJ754 on the HDD/battery board. Remove one M2. 5x4 screw and the modem stud securing the FDD and remove the FDD, exercising care about the tongue on the front side of the computer body. Remove four M2. 5x3 black screws securing the FDD to the FDD case and separate the FDD from its case. Disconnect the FDD flexible cable from the FDD. î î To remove the CD-ROM drive, follow the steps below. Separate the CD-ROM connector board and CD-ROM connector brace from the CD-ROM drive. Disconnect the CD-ROM flexible cable from PJ760 on the CD-ROM connector board. Remove two M2x3 silver screws securing the side brace on the CD-ROM drive and separate the site brace. Lift out the RTC battery and backup battery. WARNING: If you replace the RTC battery or backup battery, be sure to use only batteries recommended by Toshiba. Installation of the wrong battery can cause the battery to explode or otherwise cause damage. To remove the sound board, follow the steps below. Disconnect the following cables from the connections on the sound board: · Sound cable from PJ700 · Backup cable from PJ701 · RTC battery cable from PJ702 2. Lift up the left sound board. To remove the sensor board, follow the steps below. Disconnect the sensor cable from PJ754 on the sensor board. Lift up the membrane switch. è ê To remove the system board, follow the steps below. Remove the insulator and disconnect the sound cable from PJ700 on the sound board. Remove seven screws securing the system board and PC card slot cover as follows: · Two M2. 5x4 flat-head screws · Four M2. 5xscrews · One M2. 5x6 screw 3. Rotate out the system board from the front side to clear the USB port opening. [. . . ] Release three latches securing the LCD frame. î CAUTION: When you remove the LCD frame, be careful to hold the glass panel in place to prevent it from falling. 4. Release two latches securing the LCD frame and separate the frame from the module.
