Introduction
Using the closed caption feature
The closed caption feature has two options: · Captions--An on-screen display of the dialogue, narration, and sound effects of programs and videos that are closed-captioned (usually identified as "CC" in program guides). · Text--An on-screen display of information not related to the program, such as weather or stock data (when provided by individual stations). Press MENU, and then press x or · until the CLOSED CAPTION menu appears. Press z or y to highlight CC.

· To view captions: Highlight C1, C2, C3, or C4. (C1 displays the primary language in your area. )
Note: If the program or video you selected is not closed-captioned, no captions will display on-screen.

Note: If text is not available, a black rectangle may appear on-screen. If this happens, turn off the closed caption feature.

Introduction
Using the V-CHIP (parental control) feature
The V-CHIP CONTROL menu includes the ENABLE BLOCKING, SET RATING, SET BLOCKING OPTIONS, NEW PIN CODE, BLOCK CHANNEL, VIDEO LOCK, and GAME TIMER functions. You can use these functions after entering the correct PIN code.
Note: The V-Chip feature is only available for the U. S. The Canadian V-Chip system ("Puce-V") is not supported.
Entering the PIN code 1. Press MENU, and then press x or · until the SET UP menu appears.
2. Press y or z to highlight V-CHIP CONTROL, and then press ·.

If you forget your PIN code: While the PIN code entering screen is displayed, press RECALL four times within 5 seconds. The PIN code you stored will be released (returned to BLOCKING RESET status).
