Safety instructions This appliance complies with the safety regulations and conditions in effect and with the following: - Household appliance directive 89/336/CEE modified by directive 93/68/CEE - Low Voltage Directive 72/23/CEE modified by directive 93/68/CEE. · Check that the power supply voltage corresponds to that shown on the appliance (alternating current). · Given the diverse standards in effect, if the appliance is used in a country other than that in which it is purchased, have it checked by an approved service centre. · Do not place the appliance near a heat source or in a hot oven, as serious damage could result. [. . . ] The adjustment can be made in 5 minute intervals for cooking times longer than 20 minutes. ec 2 od n es · Wait for 2 seconds a signal sounds, the cooking starts. · The touchpad switches on automatically at the beginning of each cooking cycle. The touchpad light comes on. You can stop the function vitamin+ by pressing the touchpad. s Reduce cooking times with the vitamin+ touchpad · Exclusive : your appliance is fitted with a touchpad which reduces cooking times by up to 50% and helps retain vitamins. There is no need to press the vitamin+ touchpad again during the cooking time. One press at the start of cooking is sufficient unless the lid is removed. · Once the ideal temperature is reached, the touchpad light goes out automatically. 10 · After opening the lid you can press the touchpad again to quickly return the steamer to the ideal temperature. Use oven gloves to handle the slow cooking bowl, handle, steam baskets and the lid. · In some cases, it is normal, when you press the touchpad for the light to stay off or turn off very quickly. This means that the ideal temperature has been reached in the baskets. During cooking · You can change the cooking time by press on the / buttons. It is normal to see steam coming out of the opening in the back of the appliance. The display shows the remaining cooking time. · You can check the water level during cooking using the external water level indicator. If there is no water in the water tank, the appliance will stop automatically after 1 minute 30 seconds of the signal. 11 Steam cooking · Add more fresh cold water through the water filling inlets on each side of the appliance. · Once the water tank is refilled, the appliance restarts automatically after a few seconds and the sound signal will stop. · The appliance keeps the remaining cooking time in the memory. Steam cooking At the end of cooking or keep warm function · A signal sounds. · The steam cooker automatically transfers to the warming function, until there is no more water in the water tank. · The green light comes on, the symbol appears, a signal sounds and the clock goes back to the current time. ·You can stop the appliance by pressing the off button . Table of steam cooking times The times given for food are approximate and may vary depending on the size of the pieces of food, the space between the food, the quantity and individual preferences and variations in the mains voltage. For food with different cooking times : place the largest pieces of food requiring the longest cooking time in the lower basket. During cooking use oven gloves to put the upper basket in position with the food requiring the shorter cooking time. The following cooking times are obtained with the vitamin+ function. Recommendations 13 Steam cooking Slow cooking Positioning the slow cooking bowl · Place the 2 steam baskets on the juice collector without the removable base of steam basket 2. · To ensure the best cooking performance fill the water tank to the maximum level. Make sure the water switch is in the correct position for slow cooking. To cook rice · Put the rice and water in the slow cooking bowl. Slow cooking · Place the slow cooking bowl inside the steam baskets. · Put the lid on. The cooking time cannot be set for less than one hour. To start cooking · Plug in the appliance. The display flashes (6:00). ec 2 od n · Press the / buttons to set the cooking time. · The minimum time for slow cooking is 1 hr and the maximum time for slow cooking is 12 hrs. · Wait for 2 seconds a signal sounds, the display stops flashing. 14 es s During cooking · You can change the length of cooking time during the cooking cycle by pressing the / buttons. Avoid opening the lid during the cooking time. · If you need to stir your food, use oven gloves to lift the lid due to hot steam. If the water level is low · To show you that water is needed, a signal sounds for 1 min 30 seconds and the symbol appears on the display. If you do not add water after a certain given time, the appliance stops and the program is cancelled. · Add water through the water filling inlets on the sides. · Once the water tank is filled, the appliance restarts automatically after a few minutes. · The appliance keeps the remaining cooking time in the memory. At the end of cooking and keep warm · The steam cooker automatically transfers to the warming function, until there is no more water. [. . . ] You have the opportunity to change it by pressing on the / buttons · Press again on the Prog touchpad to revert back to Pro mode. If you just want to check the programmed cooking time, press twice on Prog touchpad. 19 Delayed cooking Prog After use Remove the food from the baskets · Lift the lid by the handle using oven gloves. · Let it cool completely before cleaning. Check that the juice collector has cooled sufficiently before removing it. Be careful the steam distribution has totally stopped. Cleaning the appliance · Empty the water tank and clean it with a damp cloth and warm soapy water. · Rinse and dry. Do not use abrasive cleaning products. Do not forget to empty and wash the condensation tray. · Do not put the base unit in the dishwasher. [. . . ]
