Recoil Starters With engine running, pull starter rope with a rapid continuous full arm stroke 3 or 4 times. 120V AC NOTE The unusual sound made by pulling starter rope will not harm engine or starter. II. Electric Starters 3 NOTES When connecting power cord, always connect power cord to switch box on engine first; then into outlet. For European 220V AC applications use an appropriate grounded extension lead available locally. With engine running, push starter button and spin starter for several seconds. NOTES The unusual sound made by the spinning starter will not harm engine or starter. When disconnecting power cord, always disconnect power cord from outlet first; then disconnect switch box on engine. 5. Remove ignition key, if provided (see manufacturer's instructions). NOTE Removing key will reduce the possibility of unauthorized starting of the engine while equipment is not in use. Move equipment control, if present (see manufacturer's instructions) engine control lever or ignition switch back and forth several times and leave control in "STOP" or "OFF" position.
