[. . . ] DVR99 HOME THEATER SYSTEM This "QUICK-START GUIDE" will get you started without reading the complete owner's manual. However, we recommend you take time to read the owner's manual completely to learn about all of the features and operating instructions for the DVR99. The Quick Guide covers only basic connections and operating instructions. The owner's manual includes important safety information and describes in detail, the advanced features and operating instructions of the DVR99. RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK DO NOT OPEN QUICK-START GUIDE PL EA S CAUTION ER EA D! CAUTION: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT REMOVE COVER (OR BACK). [. . . ] Connect the surround speakers' wires to the receiver's SPEAKERS REAR L and R terminals. Connect the center speaker's wire to the receiver's SPEAKERS CENTER terminal. Plug the AC power cord into an AC wall socket. INSTALLING BATTERIES IN THE REMOTE CONTROL Your remote control requires two AAA batteries (supplied) for power. For the best performance and longest life, we recommend alkaline batteries. C autions: · Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recommended type. · Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries. Slide the battery compartment cover in the direction of the arrow to remove it. Place the batteries in the compartment as indicated by the polarity symbols (+ and ­) marked inside. When the remote control stops operating properly, replace the batteries. C aution: If you do not plan to use the remote control for a month or longer, remove the batteries. One or more rear speaker wires is not making good contact, Place this product as far away as possible from electric devices with interference.
