(2) Set the mode dial on SUNPAK® to MAX. 11 Power ratio set points For the PF20XD, five power ratio set points, that is, MAX, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, and 1/32, can be selected. They are positioned as shown below. How to use the built-in wide panel SUNPAK incorporates a wide panel. This built-in panel allows the flash angle to be increased or reduced and flash to be diffused. If the panel is not u s e d , t h e fl a s h a n g l e corresponds to a 35-mm lens (135-size film equivalent). Using the panel allows the flash angle to cover down to a 24-mm lens (135-size film equivalent). Using the panel causes a light loss of about one f/stop. 12 Precautions for use (1) The slave sensor detects light reflected from the subject, so that synchronous flash occurs. Too little reflected light may prevent synchronous flash (2) If the strobe built in your camera provides enough light, using SUNPAK may cause excessive exposure. (3) The slave function cannot be cancelled even when SUNPAK is attached to the hot shoe (4) When SUNPAK is in use, it may provide synchronous flash if another strobe flashes. (5) The automatic sensor, which is at the front of SUNPAK, is essential for determining the appropriate exposure. (6) Be sure to use SUNPAK within the effective distance range of the automatic flash. (7) If there is anything with high reflectivity (such as a white tablecloth, flower, or ornament) near the subject, insufficient exposure may result. (9) To prevent SUNPAK from deteriorating, limit the number of continuous flashes to ten when the mode dial is in the MAX position. When firing ten flashes in such a manner, wait for ten minutes before firing another flash.
