Manual abstract: user guide STUV 21

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] We strongly recommend that you entrust the installation of your Stûv (or at any rate its inspection) to a skilled professional, in particular so that he/she can ensure that the characteristics of the flue correspond to the fireplace installed. With the fireplace (foto 2 & 3) you will have received in the combustion chamber : a paint spray for repairs, the refractory plates, a "cold" handgrip for handling the door and damper, an airtight felt seal, a bag of screws for the top extension or the lid (see page 11), 6 locking pieces for the refractories (only for the Stûv 21/105 and the 21/125). In actual fact, the guarantee only covers damage due to transport if it is notified within 48 hours of delivery. Do not forget to release the door before fitting the fireplace into the masonry and to remove the corner protection from the front, once the fireplace has been put in place. [. . . ] When auxiliary air supply is used, it is imperative that lower air intakes of the stove be shut ! Using a hammer, open at least 2 of the 8 hot air outlets of the stove in its upper part (photo 25, page 16). 600 m³ ventilation unit fitted under stove side-mounted or rear-mounted ventilator unit remote ventilation unit Using a hammer, discard plate to free opening for ventilator (photo 41). Do not forget connection to 220 V power supply and earthing (see electrical connection chapter). Using a hammer, discard fresh air intakes on which ventilator units will be placed, one to the right and the other to the left (imperative) photo 44. Do not forget connection to 220 V power supply and earthing Ventilation unit can be placed on floor or hanged. Connect ventilator unit with regulator, then regulator to fuses (see fig. Place the primary air diffuser or check its position (the diffuser's lug fit into slots designed to receive them) before placing the refractory panels (photo 48). make sure that you always position the chamfer towards the inside of the fireplace, follow the sequence indicated in figures 49 to 54 (depending on the model of fireplace to be lined), to fine-tune the alignment of the refractories, lever them with a flat screwdriver. lining the bottom : place the rebated refractories towards the back (to receive the back refractories) place the side refractories as far forward as possible (with the rebate towards the front of the fireplace), so as to be able to fit the refractories lining the back, place the back ones as far to the outside as possible, and then centre them, finally, push the side refractories towards the back (to hold in place the refractories lining the back). The same procedure applies to the other single-sided models, but the four refractories without rebates go in the centre of the rear wall. For levels 2, 3, and 4, place the respective locking pieces (A) in front of refractories nos. 53) : fit refractors 1 & 5, then 2, 3 & 4 and finish with sides. 54) : fit refractors 1, 2, 6 & 7, then 3, 4 & 5 and finish with sides. It is fixed and mounted using a counter-frame which connects the fireplace (behind the masonry) to the frame (in front of the masonry). Stûv offers 2 types of adjustable counterframe, according to the thickness of the material in which the fireplace is fitted : 50 to 70 mm and 75 to 125 mm. Ensure that the lower profile of the frame and the surface of the cavity floor are at the same level, to avoid leaving too wide a space under the frame upright (photo 58). You have chosen a Stûv fireplace ; Concept & Forme thanks you for doing so. This fireplace was designed to offer you maximum pleasure, comfort and safety. entrust its installation (or at any rate its inspection) to a skilled professional, carefully read these directions for use and comply with the cleaning instructions, duly fill in the certificate of guarantee and return it to us, while clearly mentioning the manufacturer No. , which can be seen on the main shell of the appliance, at the top right of the combustion chamber (lower the window to raise the counterweight photo 2), have the flue swept at regular intervals (once a heating season, for regular use) in order to ensure optimum operation and maximum safety. The paint is not oven-baked and it is therefore relatively fragile but will harden when it is heated for the first few times. [. . . ] Lubricate the two bearings that are visible when the door is lowered (photo 21). Raise the door and its frame while holding the sliding part and lubricate the other two ball bearings (photo 22). Then tilt the whole assembly back to horizontal, slide the window and the frame, and close the door. If sweeping is done from the top, ensure that the window is right down. [. . . ]
