We urge you to read it carefully and follow the recommendations to help assure the most enjoyable, safe, and trouble-free operation of your vehicle. When it comes to service, remember that your hicle best and is interested in your complete satisfaction. [. . . ] Engage the attaching clip of the child seat with one of the child restraint anchorages provided floor. Ensure that the child seat is correctly installed and fastened properly. WARNING Do not place a child restraint system in the front seat. The infant or child could be severely injured by an air bag inflation in case of an accident. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for installation and use of the child restraint systems. Remember that a child restraint seat left in a concealed vehicle can cause it to be very hot. Check the seating surface before putting your child in the child restraint. When your child restraint is not in use, store it in the trunk or keep it secured with a seat belt to prevent it from being thrown forward in case of a sudden stop or an accident. Never leave children or old persons unattended in a concealed vehicle. When the inside temperature increases very high, they may be in danger. When installing a child restraint, do not let the seat belts come across the child's neck. 8-12 Page 12 2006-10-02, 11:06 ANCHORAGE LOCATIONS NOTE Use the child restraint anchorage for designed purpose only. Front seat (with Passenger Air Bag) "It is possible to the forward facing universal category child seat. " Rear seat (3 points s/belt) "It is possible to install the forward and rearward facing univesal category child seat. " Rear seat (2 points s/belt) "It is possible to install the forward facing universal category child seat. " Child restraint anchor fittings are installed at the points as shown in the picture. WARNING Unrestrained infants and small children could be injured. Follow directions provided by the manufacturer. SEAT BELT AND AIR BAG Page 13 2006-10-02, 11:06 8-13 CHILD RESTRAINT INSTALLATION WARNING Rear Child restraint system placed in the front seat could cause more serious injury or death NEVER INSTALL A REAR-FACING CHILD RESTRAINT IN FRONT SEAT WITH FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG. Front A child in a rear-facing child restraint installed in the front seat can be seriously injured if the front passenger air bag inflates. A front-facing child restraint should be secured in the rear seat whenever possible. If installed in the front passenger seat, adjust the seat as far back as it will go. WARNING Loosely secured child restraint system can cause serious injury. Anchor bolt must be engaged at least 5 full threads in the anchorage. Never use infant carrier or child safety seat that hooks over a seat back. Remove child restraint system if not in use, or secure it with safety belt. Cover the unused anchor holes with the supplied plug or suitable bolts. Your vehicle has been designed to accommodate a child restraint on the rear seat. When using a child restraint, read the installation instructions supplied with the child restraint and follow the directions for fitment carefully. When installing the child restraint, use the correct anchor bolt (5/16" bolt). The anchor bolt must be engaged at least 5 full threads in the anchorage.
