[. . . ] Install the CPU Follow the steps below in order to perform the installation of your new SY-6KL Mainboard. Make Connections to the Mainboard This section tells how to connect internal peripherals and power supply to the mainboard. Internal peripherals include IDE devices (HDD, CD-ROM), Floppy Disk Drive, Chassis Fan, Front Panel Devices (Turbo LED, Internal Speaker, Reset Button, IDE LED, and KeyLock Switch. ), Wake-On-LAN card, VGA card, Sound Card, and other devices. Connectors and Plug-ins Connect the SB-Link TM (PC-PCI) cable from your PCI audio card to this header. CPU Cooling Fan: FAN 1 Connect the WOL cable from your LAN card to JP44. Chassis Fan: FAN 3 Connect the CPU cooling fan cable to the Connect the case cooling fan cable to the FAN1 power connector. USB TB LED SPK Plug your USB devices Connect your Turbo LED Connect the speaker cable to to this header. RESET IDE LED KB-LOCK Connect the Power LED and the KB Lock switch to this header. AT Power Supply Connect the AT Power Supply cable to this connector ATX Power Supply: ATX PW Attach the ATX Power cable to this connector. When using the PS/2 Keyboard Wake-Up function, please make sure the ATX power supply can take at least 720mA load on the 5V Standby lead (5VSB) to meet the standard ATX specifications. IrDA (Infrared Device Header): IR1 Connect the cable from your IrDA device to this header. ATX Power On/Off: PWRBT Connect your power switch to this header (momentary switch type). Depending on the BIOS setting, turning off the system is done by "one touch" or by pressing the switch for >4s longer than 4s. Configure Memory Your board comes with three DIMM sockets and two SIMM banks, providing support for up to 384MB of main memory using DIMM modules from 8MB to 128MB and SIMM modules from 8MB to 64MB with no restriction on memory configuration. Notice 2: Do not install memory modules in SIMM and DIMM 3 at the same time. Step 4. Set the CPU Frequency You do not need to set any jumper for the CPU frequency. Enable/Disable PS/2 Keyboard Wake-Up (JP12) You can choose to enable the Wake-Up by PS/2 Keyboard or Mouse function by shorting pin 1-2 on jumper JP12, otherwise, remove the jumper cap to open pin 1-2 and disable this function.
