Enter code Using the display Carefully handle the display because dents and scratches can occur through pressure of the finger or contact with sharp objects. The display can be cleaned with a soft cloth and finger marks can be wiped away with pure alcohol. If you have confirmed a wrongly entered code, you can repeat once again the entire process. If the code number is entered incorrectly for the second time, the unit will be blocked for approx. [. . . ] By briefly pressing the button RADIO , you can select between the memory levels FM1, FM2 and FM3. Note The stored radio stations of the current waveband are updated and stored once again in the memory level FMAS and/or AMAS by repetitively pressing the button AS . Function SCAN The stations of a waveband can be played briefly one after the other (for ten seconds). 2 ­ Press the menu control button A, the radio searches automatically all available stations of the current waveband. 12 ­ In order to call up the original radio station, press the station key A CANCEL. 12 ­ If you wish to select other radio stations, press the button A SKIP. Activation of the AM waveband 12 The AM waveband is activated when pressing the station key A AM. By briefly pressing the button RADIO , you can select between the memory levels AM1, AM2 and AM3. The process of searching for and storing the radio stations Manual search ­ Search the frequency of the desired radio station by turning the menu control 2 button A. RDS functions Certain radio stations transmit additional text information - designated as radio text. ­ The information of the radio text is displayed by pressing the button INFO . Store station 12 ­ After selecting the radio station, hold the station key A, on which it should be stored until it briefly switches to mute and a brief signal sounds. Note The text information must not be available to all radio stations. Depending upon the quality of the received signal, the radio needs a specific time, in order to correctly read all the illustrated characters. 6 General information Traffic information function Activating and deactivating the traffic announcements Press the button TP , TP appears in the display. If a set radio station does not transmit traffic announcements, the radio searches for a station which transmits traffic announcements. An incoming traffic announcement automatically interrupts the CD play function. At the end of the traffic announcement, the radio automatically returns to the original play function. If you wish to deactivate the reception of traffic announcements, press once again the button TP , TP goes out on the display. CD player 7 CD player Using the system Inserting the CD ­ Press the button MEDIA , in order to select the audio source: CD (internal CD drive), CDC (external CD changer), AUX (external input) and BT-AUDIO (wireless transfer of MP3 data from the telephone preinstallation). 10 ­ Carefully insert a CD into the CD case A until it is automatically drawn in. The play function begins automatically. Ejecting CD 11 ­ Press the button A, the Cd is ejected. Display of additional information (MP3 data) Press the button INFO , the additional information for the current title is displayed on the display. In the display, you can select the display of additional information via the MP3 data using the station keys 1 - 6 . The system supports MP3 data with bit rates of 32 to 320 KB/s as well as MP3 data with variable bit rates. The indicated playing time data with variable bit rates is not reliable. Formation of condensation When it is cold and after rain showers, moisture can deposit in the CD drive (condensation). In case of severe layers of dirt we recommend to clean the CD with a commercially available CD cleaner. Also in this case do not clean the CD in the direction of a circle but rather from inside to outside and then let it dry off. Overheating protection If the temperature in the unit exceeds 85°C, the play function of the CD is ended for safety reasons. OFF - Play function in continuous order; ON - Play function of titles in random order in a certain folder (folder); Note Confirm the functions OPEN and PLAY using the function key or by pressing the menu 2 control button A. If an external audio source is connected via AUX-IN, which is equipped with an adapter for external power supply, it can occur that the audio signal is interrupted. The loudspeakers in the vehicle are matched to a power output of the radio of 4x20 W.
