[. . . ] However it is required that there is no housing damage and no unauthorised repair attempts have been made. 3 A Station keys Note A damage in the sense of the warranty must not be the result from improper handling of the system or from unprofessional repair attempts. In addition, no external damage must be present. 4 A 5 A 6 A Button Radio mode The radio should only be used, if the traffic situation permits it. The volume settings must be selected in such a way that acoustic signals from the outside, such as e. g. a Martins horn from utility vehicles (police cars, ambulances and fire brigade), can be heard at any time. [. . . ] As the unit only functions after entering the safety code, this practically excludes its use after a theft - a contribution to increased anti-theft safety. Basic setting Switching the unit on and off 1 ­ The system is switched on or off by pressing the rotary/push knob A. If the key is pulled out of the ignition lock when the system is switched on, the system switches off automatically. You can switch on again the unit by pressing the 1 rotary/push knob A. If the engine is switched off, the unit (protection of the vehicle battery before discharging) switches off automatically after approx. one hour. 4 Radio If you have switched off the radio by withdrawing the ignition key, the radio switches on again once the ignition is on. Setting the special functions 2 ­ Press the button A for some considerable time, in order to activate the menu Setup. 2 ­ Select the individual functions of the menu by pressing the button A briefly. 2 ­ By pressing the button A for some considerable time or 30 seconds after the setting, the set values are automatically stored and the unit returns to the normal mode. Audio settings Setting the bass ­ Press the button , BASS appears in the display. 2 ­ Set the desired value by turning the button A. Setting treble ­ Press the button , TRE appears in the display. 2 ­ Set the desired value by turning the button A. GALA Your radio increases automatically its volume with the increasing vehicle speed. If the value is higher, the volume is reduced to the value of the parameter ON VOL after switching on the radio again. PHONE If your vehicle is equipped with a handsfree system, you can switch on or off the monophone play function of the mobile phone calls via the loudspeakers of the vehicle. If you set the value OFF, the tone is not replayed from the external audio source. BEEP Switching on or off the tone signal when storing the radio stations. By pressing again the button or 5 seconds after the setting, the set values are stored and the radio returns to the normal mode. Adjusting volume ratio Balance ­ By pressing the button repetitively, BAL appears in the display. 2 ­ You can set with the button A the desired value of the volume ratio between the left and right side. Fader ­ Press the button once again, FAD appears in the display. 2 ­ You can set with the button A the desired value of the volume ratio between the front and the rear. By pressing again the button or 5 seconds after the setting, the set values are stored and the radio returns to the normal mode. Radio CD Play function of the CD tack (tracks) in continuous or random order. If you select SCHFFL (Schuffle), the tracks are replayed in random order. LOUD In case of low volume level, the function reinforces the range of bass and treble frequencies. 5 Function SCAN ­ The radio station of the current waveband is briefly played (10 2 seconds) by pressing the button A briefly. 2 ­ This function is ended by pressing the button A once again and the current station is replayed. Store station 3 ­ After selecting the radio station, hold the station key A, on which it should be stored until it briefly switches to mute and a brief signal sounds. Note Each setting change is stored by changing to another menu point. Radio mode Waveband switch-over Your radio is fitted with the wavebands FM and AM, in order to change, press the button AM/FM for a considerable time. In the ranges FM1/AM1 and FM2/AM2 there are each 6 memory spaces available, in order to change, press the button AM/FM briefly. Automatic station finding with storing the radio stations ­ Press the button AS . An automatic station finding is started during which the 6 stations with the strongest signal in the memory level FM2 and/or AM2 are stored. This applies only to the wavebands FM2 and AM2. 3 When storing the radio stations on the station keys A is finished, you can call up 3 the desired radio station by pressing a station key A. Note The process of searching for and storing the radio stations Manual search ­ Search the frequency of the desired radio station by pressing the 2 button A. Automatic station finding SEEK ­ The radio searches for the next radio station in the selected waveband by pressing the button or . The stored radio stations are updated and stored once again by repetitively pressing the button AS . Radio text Certain radio stations transmit additional text information - called radio text. Note The text information must not be available to all radio stations. · 6 Radio · Depending upon the quality of the received signal, the radio needs a specific time, in order to correctly read all the illustrated characters. Select track 2 ­ During the CD play function turn the button A to the left or to the right, in order to select the previous or the next track. Traffic reports Activating and deactivating the traffic information Press the button TP , TP appears in the display. If a set radio station does not transmit a traffic report, the radio searches for a station which transmits the traffic report. If no radio station which transmits the traffic reports is found, NO TP is shown on the display. An incoming traffic report automatically interrupts the CD play function or listening to a radio station, which at that moment is not transmitting a traffic report. [. . . ] In case of severe layers of dirt we recommend to clean the CD with a commercially available CD cleaner. Also in this case do not clean the CD in the direction of a circle but rather from inside to outside and then let it dry off. Radio Overheating protection If the temperature in the unit exceeds 85°C, the play function of the CD is ended for safety reasons. 7 · · · Caution Never use liquids such as gasoline, paint thinner or disk cleaner, otherwise the surface of the CD could get damaged. Please never write or affix the CD! Note Dirt or damage of a CD can lead to difficulties when "reading" the information. The difficulty in reading the error depends on the dirt or on the severity of the mechanical damage. [. . . ]
