Set width of the zigzag so the left swing of the needle stitches into the lace header, and the right swing extends over the fabric edge. Note: Upper tension may need to be reduced. Materials Batiste Strip of lace 60-80 weight fine cotton thread Procedure Starch lace and batiste. Finish fabric's edges by sewing a small zigzag through all layers, being careful not to catch too much lace. Note: A nice touch can be added by stitching a row of Hemstitching down each side of the lace.
