Fabric softener is not completely dispensed or water remains in the p compartment The dispenser drawer was opened while the fabric softener was being flushed in, or The siphon tube is incorrectly positioned or clogged. Clean it (see , , Cleaning and Care"). 25 Problem solving guide Excessive build-up of foam To avoid this problem please note: ^ Use only powder detergents, and carefully follow the manufacturer's dosage recommendations. If foaming still occurs, cut back to 1/2 of the recommended dosage. ^ For lightly soiled articles or a small load, reduce the amount of detergent accordingly. It may be necessary to run a short wash cycle without detergent or clothes in order to flush excess foam from the machine. The machine can be run normally after this procedure. Pilling on fabrics Normal, everyday wear of certain fabrics causes pilling to occur. The , , Gentle wash" function should be selected when washing these fabrics, or use a program with a higher water level and reduced agitation to decrease the risk of further pilling. Gray, greasy particles cling to washed laundry The wash load was heavily soiled with greasy substances such as cosmetics or lotions, and the amount of detergent was insufficient to break down the particles of grease. [. . . ] The plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances. The washing machine is supplied with a 5 ft long, 4 wire cord, ending in a NEMA 14-30 P plug, ready for connection to a 120 V/240V (208 V) 60 Hz, AC power supply. The proper outlet can be purchased from any electrical supply dealer or from the Miele Technical Service Dept. Ask for a NEMA 14-30 R receptacle.
