Once the driver is downloaded, there is no need to download the driver again unless you change cellphone models. CAUTION Please DO NOT cancel the download, once you have started loading the driver. Even if you need to change the driver, wait until the download process is completed and then load the appropriate driver. 11. Once the driver is downloaded, AutoLine Setup automatically configures the modem for cellular use. So there's no need to reboot each time you switch between a telephone and a cellular connection. Once the appropriate drivers are loaded and the modem is reset, the following message appears to indicate that the firmware upgrade is complete. The cellphone driver update installation for PC Card modem is complete. The AutoLine setup will automatically detect whenever you use the modem with a cellphone. So, there is no need to run the modem upgrade utility, unless you need to use a different CellPhone model. After the firmware upgrade is complete, connect the cellphone to the modem using the cellphone cable. Page 10 4. Using the CellPhone with Cellphone cable Switch off the CellPhone, insert the modem PC Card in the PCMCIA slot and connect the Cellphone to the modem using the cellphone cable. Then switch on the CellPhone and Use the modem as directed in the documentation that came with the modem. If you are using the dialup networking through cellular phone, please read the following section to modify the dialup networking settings for cellular connection. 4A. Double click Dialup Networking located under "My Computer". 2. It is strongly recommended that the user makes or creates two separate connections for dialup networking, one for regular landline phone connection, another for cellular connection. This will allow the user to define the best possible connection for either "landline" or "cellular" as shown below. 3. To change the setting on the current cellular connection, highlight the Page 11 CellPhone connection icon, go to file and click on proprieties. On the cellular connection, it is advisable to turn down the baud rate to around 19200 bps. With baud rates higher than 19200 bps, the modem has a hard time filtering out noise, which actually either slows down the modem or disconnects it. 5. [. . . ] ("STI"), warrants that this product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship during the warranty period, and will perform according to product documentation. This warranty is expressly limited to product repair or replacement, at the sole discretion of STI. Except for the express warranty expressed above, STI grants no other warranty.
