The safety concept can work only if the appliance is in a faultless condition. · The power plug must always be easily accessible, so that the appliance can be quickly separated from the mains in the event of an emergency. Backup batteries 2x 1. 5 V, Type AAA/LR03 (Micro) (not supplied) Radio frequency range VHF (FM): 87. 5 ­ 108 MHz The technical capabilities of this device make possible an adjustable frequency range that lies beyond the permitted frequency ranges of 87. 5 ­ 108 MHz. In some countries, different national regulations may apply in regard to the assigned radio frequency ranges. [. . . ] Pressing and holding the buttons changes the time at ten-minute intervals. -6- Automatic Update (RDS) The RDS signal transfers additional information such as name of the station, time or song title to the radio. With the assistance of the automatic update function, the time display of your kitchen radio is automatically updated upon reception of the RDS signal. The time is automatically updated when the appliance is switched on and reception is made from a station transmitting an RDS-Signal. The update is complete when the clock symbol stops blinking and is displayed continuously. The clock symbol no longer appears. On the display appears "12 HOUR". For the hours of the morning there now appears additionally an AM on the display, and for the hours of the afternoon a PM. Selecting the alarm melody 1. On an alarm by signal tone, a signal tone sounds. Kitchen timer 1. Press the buttons UP/DOWN s to set the desired time (a time span between 1 minute and 23:59 h is possible). A clock symbol running in an anti-clockwise direction appears on the display. From 30 seconds before expiry of the time span an acoustic signal sounds every 5 seconds, repeating at shorter intervals the closer the set time approaches. When the time has elapsed, the signal sounds continuously and with an increasing sound volume. · Press the button TIMER o to switch off the acoustic signal. Switching the dimmer on and off The dimmer functions darkens the display, when no actions are being taken. On the display appears "DIM OFF". Interrupting the kitchen timer. Selecting 12 or 24 hour time display 1. In automatic mode press the button MODE SETTING i six times. On the display appears "24 HOUR" for the 24 hour modus. Press the button DOWN s to select the 12 hour modus. · You can interrupt the kitchen timer by briefly pressing the button TIMER o. The time continues to run. Switching the kitchen timer off · To switch the kitchen timer off, hold the button TIMER o down. The kitchen radio displays the time. -7- Programming the kitchen timer You can save kitchen timer periods with the buttons 1-6 r. On the display the number of the selected memory save location appears. To recall the saved kitchen timer settings, in automatic mode press the button TIMER o and the button of the corresponding memory save location (Buttons 1-6 r). A clock symbol running in an anti-clockwise direction appears on the display. To return to automatic mode, press and hold the button TIMER o for two seconds. 1. The last set alarm time and the symbol for the type of alarm are shown on the display.
