[. . . ] • The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items, such as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains, etc. • No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the unit. • The unit shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing for use. • No objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the unit. [. . . ] In the standby mode, press the POWER ON button to enter the operating mode. In the operating mode, press the STANDBY button to enter the standby mode. 12. PRESET UP/DOWN (+/-) buttons Press these buttons to tune in the preset stations without selecting the preset mode. Press this button to select the desired band. • Each time this button on the front panel is pressed, the band and the FM mode change as follows : → FM STereo → FM MONO → AM • Each time this button on the remote control is pressed, the band changes as follows : FM ↔ AM 2. STANDBY indicator When this unit is turned off, this indicator lights up. 3. STEREO indicator When FM broadcasts are reproduced in stereo sound, this indicator lights up. 4. TUNED indicator When a station of sufficient strength is tuned in, this indicator lights up. 14. STEREO/MONO button When listening to FM broadcasts, press this button to select the STereo mode or the MONO mode depending on the strength of broadcst signal. 5. RDS indicator When RDS broadcasts are received, this indicator lights up. 15. AUTO PRESET button Press this button to automatically search for FM stations and to store them in the memory. 6. Remote sensor This receives the signals from the remote control unit. 16. Tuning/ Preset mode • Each time the BAND button on the front panel is pressed, the band and the FM mode change as follows : → FM STereo (STEREO indicator lights up) → FM MONO → (STEREO indicator goes off) AM 9 ENGLISH TX-5505(G)_ENG_100819_TX-5505(G)_ENG 2010-08-19 오후 5:31 페이지 10 Manual tuning • Manual tuning is useful when you already know the frequency of the desired station. • After selecting the desired band (and the tuning mode in case of using the TUNING/PRESET knob), rotate this knob one by one slowly or press the TUNING UP(+)/ DOWN(-) buttons repeatedly until the right frequency has been reached. TUNING / PRESET Manual presetting • You can store up to 40 preferred stations in the memory. ENGLISH 1. Tune in the desired station with auto or manual tuning. 2. Press the TUNING/PRESET knob or the MEMORY button. or TUNING / PRESET or • Press and hold down the TUNING UP(+)/DOWN(-) buttons to reach quickly the right frequency. While listening to FM broadcasts, press the AUTO PRESET button. AUTO PRESET • The preset number flickers for several seconds. ■On the front panel or 3. Rotate the TUNING/PRESET knob to select the desired preset number(1~40) and press this knob. When “FM AUTO PRESET” flickers, press the AUTO PRESET button again. • The station has now been stored in the memory. • A stored frequency is erased from the memory by storing another frequency in its place. • If the preset number does not flicker or disappears, start again from the above step 2. • Then “SEARCH” flickers and the tuner starts auto presetting. • Up to 40 FM stations can be stored. ■Notes : • FM stations of weak strength cannot be memorized. • To memorize AM stations or weak stations, perform “Manual presetting” procedure with using “Manual tuning” operation. 4.
