[. . . ] This can damage the player and the CDs. 5 6 7 8 When loading a third disc, press the DISC SKIP button to turn the disc tray, then place the CD in the open position. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to close the disc tray. q The total number of tracks and the total playing time for one disc will be displayed. Press the desired disc number button ( Press the 0/R 1- 3). 7 CD 5 8 CD (0R) button. 2 1 q Playback will begin from track 1 on the disc you have selected to play. q After the disc finishes playing, the next disc will automatically play. q When there is no CD in one of the disc 1 - 3 positions, that position will be skipped and the next CD will be played. q When the last track on the third disc has finished playing, the unit will stop automatically. Caution: q Do not carry the unit with discs left in the disc trays. The discs may come loose inside the unit and they may be damaged or cause damage to the unit. q If the power fails while the tray is open, wait until the power is restored. q If the disc tray is stopped forcibly, "ERR" will appear in the display and the unit will not function. If this occurs, press the ON/STAND-BY button to enter the stand-by mode and then turn the power on again. q If TV or radio interference occurs during CD operation, move the unit away from the TV or radio. Up to 32 tracks can be programmed. q If you make a mistake while in the programming mode ("MEMORY" will appear) or if you wish to change your selections, the programmed tracks can be cleared by pressing the CLEAR button. The tracks will be cleared sequentially, starting with the last track entered. 5 1 3 CLEAR Press the 0/R (0R) button to start playback of programmed selections. To clear the programmed selections: 5 Press the CLEAR button on the remote control while the disc is stopped. q Each time the button is pressed, one track will be cleared, beginning with the last track programmed. Notes: q Opening the disc tray automatically cancels the programmed sequence. q Even if you press the ON/STAND-BY button to enter the stand-by mode or the function is changed from CD to some other function, the programmed selections will not be cleared. q During APMS operation, random play is not possible. 2 s Repeat play Repeat play indicator All tracks on up to 3 discs, or a programmed sequence can be continuously repeated. To repeat all tracks on up to 3 discs: Press the 0/R (0R) button twice. q "R" will appear. To repeat a programmed sequence: 1 2 CD Program a sequence of up to 32 tracks. Press the 0/R (0R) button twice. q "R" will appear. To cancel repeat play: Press the 0/R (0R) button again. Note: q When using repeat play, be sure to press the s (CD s) button after you are through listening. Otherwise, the CD(s) will play continuously. 10 RADIO OPERATION s Tuning (Main unit operation) 1 2 3 1 4 4 Press the ON/STAND-BY button to turn the power on. (FM ST, FM or AM) Press the TUNING/TIME (X or desired station. W) button to tune into the Manual tuning: 2, 3, 5, 6 Press the TUNING/TIME (X or button as many times as required to adjust the frequency shown on the display to the frequency of the desired station. W) Auto tuning: When the TUNING/TIME (X or button is pressed for more than 0. 5 seconds, scanning will start automatically and the tuner will stop at the first receivable broadcast station. [. . . ] While pressing down the 0 / R button and the EQUALIZER/XBASS/DEMO button, hold down the ON/STAND-BY button for at least 1 second. q "CLEAR AL" will appear. Caution: q The operation explained above will erase all data stored in memory including clock and timer settings, and tuner and CD presets. TRANSPORTING THE UNIT OPEN/ CLOSE POWER ON/ STAND-BY Before you move this product to a new location, proceed as follows: CD 1 2 3 4 5 Press the ON/STAND-BY button to turn the power on. Press the ON/STAND-BY button to enter the stand-by mode, and then unplug the AC power cord from the AC outlet. q Remove all CDs inserted in the unit. q Make sure that "NO DISC" is displayed. 15 MAINTENANCE s Internal care TAPE 1 q Dirty heads, capstans or pinch rollers can cause poor sound and tape jams.
