In the event of such damage being found, the appliance must no longer be used. Do not operate the appliance if excessive force has been used to pull the power cord. Do not allow the appliance or its power cord to come into contact with open flames or any hot surfaces such as hotplates. Do not let the power cord hang free, and keep the cord well away from hot parts of the housing. When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord; always grip the plug itself. No responsibility is accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with. This appliance is intended for domestic or similar applications, such as in - staff kitchens, offices and other commercial environments, - agricultural areas, - hotels, motels etc. In order to comply with safety regulations and to avoid hazards, repairs of electrical appliances must be carried out by qualified personnel, including the replacement of the power cord. If repairs are needed, please send the appliance to one of our customer service departments. Thermal safety cut-out The preset thermal safety cut-out protects the heating element from overheating should the appliance be erroneously switched on without any water, or if the heating element is calcified. Once the safety cut-out has switched off the kettle, it must be allowed to cool down sufficiently, or must be descaled before it is switched on again. Boiling water Never remove the water container from the base (or replace it) while the appliance is switched on. €“ Take off the lid and fill the container with water to the desired level, observing the 8 Min. €“ Replace the lid and put the container back on its base, before switching the appliance on. €“ Insert the plug into a suitable wall socket and press the On/Off switch. After reaching the boiling point, the appliance is automatically switched off by the integral steam cut-off device.
