[. . . ] As a reference aide, the beep sounds in a different tone when the mode changes over to the TIME/CALENDAR mode. 6 TIME/CALENDAR MODE The calendar adjusts automatically for odd and even months including February of leap years from 2001 up to 2050. Date Day of the week : If the watch is left untouched for 2 minutes when Day & Date Display is selected, the digital time and city name disappear and only the day and date are shown. To show the digital time and city name, press any one of the four buttons. 7 English TIME/CALENDAR SETTING Set the digital time first before setting the analogue time, as the second hand is governed by the digital time. Once the time and calendar of your area are set in the TIME/CALENDAR mode, the time and calendar of the other 28 cities covered in the WORLD TIME mode will be automatically set. City name B Press for 2 to 3 seconds to show TIME/CALENDAR SETTING display. * Second hand points at the city previously selected, and the name of the city scrolls in the scroll window while the other digital display windows become blank. B D D Press to select the city representing your area. 8 Digital time/calendar setting C C Press to select an item(flashing) to be adjusted. (See *4 on page 22) ENGAGEMENT/DISENGAGEMENT OF HOURLY TIME SIGNAL AND TURNING ON/OFF OF CONFIRMATION SOUND FOR BUTTON OPERATION English C C With each press in TIME/CALENDAR mode, the hourly time signal and confirmation sound for button operation are alternately switched on and off. (See *5 on page 22 ) Hourly time signal indicator (displayed when hourly time signal and confirmation sound are switched on) HOW TO SET THE DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME (SUMMER TIME) If the daylight saving time is in effect, press Button D for 2 to 3 seconds to display the daylight saving time. (See *6 on page 22) * The daylight saving time indicator appears, and both the digital and analogue time are advanced by one hour from the standard time. * Daylight saving time can be set for each city except Greenwich. [Daylight saving time] Daylight saving time indicator D 11 English WORLD TIME MODE Digital display : City name, time, date and day of the week of the city selected from the 28 cities in different time zones throughout the world that are shown on the bezel. Analogue display : Hour and Minute hands --- time of your area (Home Time) City(Second) hand--- selected city on the bezel (World Time City) A Press to show WORLD TIME mode. English City hand Time of the selected city Time of the selected city is displayed in the digital display window while Hour and Minute hands show the time of your area (Home Time). When the battery expires, be sure to replace it as soon as possible to prevent any malfunction. For battery replacement, we recommend that you contact an AUTHORIZED SEIKO DEALER and request SEIKO SR1130W battery. * · · · · · The battery life may be less than 2 years if: the alarm is used for longer than 20 seconds a day, the stopwatch is used for longer than 3 minutes a day, city selection is made more than 5 times a day, the confirmation sound is used more than 10 times a day, and/or the time transfer function is used more than once a day. 25 English NECESSARY PROCEDURES AFTER CHANGING THE BATTERY * After the battery is replaced with a new one , or in case an abnormal display (Broken numerals or letters etc. ) appear, follow the procedures below to reset the IC. All digital indicators disappear at once and the display shown at left appears when the buttons are released. 26 B C A D * All digital indicators are reset to show "GREE", " 1" , " MON" and "AM 12:00 00" in the TIME/CALENDAR mode. Set the analogue time and digital time/ calendar. (See "TIME/CALENDAR SETTING" on page 8) * Selected cities in TIME/CALENDAR, WORLD TIME, and ALARM modes are all reset to "GREENWICH" by pressing the four buttons. English WARNING Do not remove the battery from the watch. If it is necessary to take out the battery, keep it out of the reach of children. Never short-circuit, tamper with or heat the battery, and never expose it to fire. The battery may burst, become very hot or catch fire. CAUTION The battery is not rechargeable. If used in sea water, rinse the 5 bar WR watch in fresh water and dry it completely. · When taking a shower with a water resistant 5 bar watch, or 10/15/20 bar WR taking a bath with a water resistant 10, 15 or 20 bar watch, be sure to observe the following: * Do not operate the buttons when the watch is wet with soapy water or shampoo. * If the watch is left in warm water, a slight time loss or gain may be caused. This condition, however, will be corrected when the watch returns to normal temperature. * Pressure in bar is a test pressure and should not be considered as corresponding to actual diving depth since swimming movement tends to increase the pressure at a given depth.
