(See *8 on page 22) STOPWATCH MODE English A Press to show STOPWATCH mode. # Second hand Mode indicator B C 1/1000 second A Hour Minute D Second #: While the stopwatch is counting, the Second hand indicates the elapsed time in 1-second increments and the graphic display scrolls from left to right in the scroll window. (Hour and Minute hands indicate the current time) 15 English STOPWATCH OPERATION G Before using the stopwatch, reset the digital counter to read "00:00'00"000" by pressing Button D. "Lap time" refers to an elapsed time required to cover a given circuit or segment of a whole race. With each press of the button, a flashing item changes over in the following order: D B L B C L L Hour Minute City L Press to adjust the selected item. (See *10 on page 22) * "on" and the alarm mark are displayed and the alarm is automatically engaged. 19 English ALARM ENGAGEMENT/DISENGAGEMENT A C Press to show ALARM mode. With each press, alarm is alternately engaged and disengaged. C C Alarm indicator "on" indicator "off" indicator [Alarm engaged] [Alarm disengaged] * The alarm sounds at the designated time for 20 seconds. To stop it manually, press any one of the four buttons. ALARM TEST Press and hold Buttons C and D at the same time in the TIME/CALENDAR mode. 20 NOTES ON OPERATING THE WATCH *1 · The day of the week is automatically set once the year, month and date are set. · When the time is set in the 24-hour display, the world time and alarm time will also be shown in the 24-hour display. *2 · The digits, other than seconds and "12H"/"24H", advance quickly if Button D is kept pressed. This happens if Button C and D are pressed at the same time during time setting. In such a case, press any one of the four buttons to return to the TIME/CALENDAR mode. C D 23 English BATTERY LIFE INDICATOR G When the battery life indicator scrolls in the scroll window, replace the battery with a new one as soon as possible. We suggest that you have the battery replaced by a SEIKO DEALER. * Even after the battery life indicator appears, time accuracy is not affected. Battery life indicator BATTERY CHANGE 2 Years The miniature battery which powers your watch should last approximately 2 years. However, because the battery is inserted at the factory to check the function and performance of the watch, its actual life once in your possession may be less than the specified period. When the battery expires, be sure to replace it as soon as possible to prevent any malfunction. For battery replacement, we recommend that you contact an AUTHORIZED SEIKO DEALER and request SEIKO SR1130W battery. * · · · · · The battery life may be less than 2 years if: the alarm is used for longer than 20 seconds a day, the stopwatch is used for longer than 3 minutes a day, city selection is made more than 5 times a day, the confirmation sound is used more than 10 times a day, and/or the time transfer function is used more than once a day. 24 NECESSARY PROCEDURES AFTER CHANGING THE BATTERY * After the battery is replaced with a new one , or in case an abnormal display (Broken numerals or letters etc. ) appear, follow the procedures below to reset the IC. All digital indicators disappear at once and the display shown at left appears when the buttons are released. English B C A D * All digital indicators are reset to show "GREE", " 1" , " MON" and "AM 12:00 00" in the TIME/CALENDAR mode. Set the analogue time and digital time/ calendar. (See "TIME/CALENDAR SETTING" on page 7) * Selected cities in TIME/CALENDAR, WORLD TIME, and ALARM modes are all reset to "GREENWICH" by pressing the four buttons. 25 English WARNING G Do not remove the battery from the watch. G If it is necessary to take out the battery, keep it out of the reach of children. G Never short-circuit, tamper with or heat the battery, and never expose it to fire. The battery may burst, become very hot or catch fire. CAUTION G The battery is not rechargeable.
