HEALTH ISSUES
Use this software in a well-lit room, staying a good distance away from the monitor or TV screen to not overtax your eyes. Take breaks of 10 to 20 minutes every hour, and do not play when you are tired or short on sleep. Prolonged use or playing too close to the monitor or television screen may cause a decline in visual acuity. In rare instances, stimulation from strong light or flashing when staring at a monitor or television screen can cause temporary muscular convulsions or loss of consciousness for some people. [. . . ] · In NETWORK MODE, you will play with original character that has no relations with the STORY MODE. · The game progress and character data will be saved onto the server which is managed by SEGA Corporation.
SEGA ID AND PASSWORD To play in NETWORK MODE, you must first register at the official site to have your SEGA ID and Password issued. The SEGA ID and Password are required to log in to the server (see p. 14). You are must have a valid e-mail address, and you will be issued only one SEGA ID/Password per e-mail address.

NETWORK MODE Patch After selecting Network Mode, the game will check for updates. If an update is needed, the game will install the update and then exit. Note: At the bottom right of the screen, the version number of Phantasy Star Universe will be displayed to verify the update condition. Entering ID/Password You will be asked to enter your SEGA ID and Password. Use the arrow buttons to select the box to enter, and press the gENTER key. When done, select Log in, and press the ENTER key.
CREATE CHARACTER/BEGIN PLAY Here you will create a character that you will use in NETWORK MODE. You can create up to four characters, and the items can be shared between your characters through the Common Box (p. 15). Create a Character You have four selectable character spaces, one for each character. The next time you connect and play, select a character to use from this screen. You can also delete a character and recreate anew.
Please be cautious, as once a character is deleted, all data relating to the deleted character will be lost completely. How to Create You can select a race, sex, face, body, clothes, voice, and name for your character. Where it is applicable, select Return to return to the previous screen. Also, during the character creation, use the CTRL key and CV to zoom the character in/out, CV to zoom, and ZX to rotate left/right. Face and Body You can select each part of your face, body suit, skin color, and proportions. Depending on the part, you can make adjustments on shape or color, using the SHIFT key and ARROW keys together. Clothes and Voice You can select clothes and voice, voice type, and voice pitch. If the settings are correct, select Finish and press the gENTER key to end Character Create. About Races Humans Humans have a greater ability to adapt to the environment and have balanced overall abilities. Newmans Newmans are created with faster reflexes and minds, but they lack in physique compared to humans. [. . . ] Furthermore, in no event shall Sega or its licensors be liable for consequential or incidental damages resulting from the breach of any express or implied warranties. Sega's total liability shall not exceed the actual price paid for the Game Software. TERMINATION Without prejudice to any other rights of Sega, this License shall terminate automatically if you fail to comply with its terms and conditions. In such event, you must destroy all copies of the Game Software.
INJUNCTION Because Sega would be irreparably damaged if the terms of this Agreement were not specifically enforced, you agree that Sega shall be entitled, without bond or other security or proof of damages, to take such action as may be required, including seeking an injunction and other equitable remedies, in addition to any other remedies available to it under the applicable law.
