Hold the clamp to open up the pre-filter and empty the dirt out of the filter. Then attach the dust compartment section to the motor section. Thank you for your purchase of the Sanyo Vacuum Cleaner. Please read these instructions carefully before using. A FEW PRECAUTIONS 1. Operation without the dust compartment and /or filters in place will allow dust to enter the motor and could damage the vacuum cleaner. Do not wipe with benzine, thinner, petrol or other oils which might cause discoloration or cracking. To clean the body and hose, dampen a cloth with a mild detergent and wipe clean. Blocking the suction inlet or allowing the dust to clog the hose will decrease the efficiency of the motor. Be sure not to push the clamp button while carrying the vacuum cleaner. * Wet things, mud, soil, and fluids * Burning cigarettes * Needles and razor blades * Inflammable materials such as gasoline and thinner * Construction rubbish 7. The following kinds of treatment shorten hose life: * Bending hose at an acute angle when storing * Pulling the hose with excessive force * Placing heavy objects on, or stepping on the hose 8. Long and continuous use causes the exhaust air and the body of the vacuum cleaner to become warm. When vacuuming places that are very dusty, and also when vacuuming regularly, empty the dust compartment before it becomes completely filled. Frequent emptying lengthens the life of the motor and maintains strong suction power. [. . . ] Never put the filter into the vacuum cleaner unless it is completely dry. To assure the best results, we recommend cleaning the filters once every one (1) year, depending on usage. CARE OF TURBO CLEANTM / Before caring for the TURBO CLEANTM , be sure to turn OFF the switch of the unit and disconnect the plug from the outlet. If needles, pins or waste paper get stuck in the suction inlet, remove them after going through the above procedure. Trying to remove them during operation is dangerous. EDGE GRABBER TM / The Edge Grabber system is designed to help clean all the way up to the baseboards. [. . . ]
