When the base unit is connected to AC power and a telephone line, it can support up to 4 handsets. The LED flashes when you have new incoming messages in the voice mail service. You may need to occasionally reset the indicators if they remain on after you've retrieved your messages. To reset the indicators, when the phone is in Standby Mode, press and hold find handset on the base until the paging sound stops (about 5 seconds). Your phone stores names/numbers in the phonebook memory location, and you can search names in alphabetical order. You have a total of 100 locations that can be used for the phonebook (including the speed dials) and Caller ID messages. Storing Phone Numbers, Names, Distinctive Rings, and Speed Dial 1) When the phone is in standby mode, press phonebook. With each press of a number key (0-9), the displayed character appears in the following order: upper case letters first, lower case letters next and finally the number corresponding to the key. Note: If the next character uses the same number key, you must press #/ to move the cursor over. Otherwise the next time you press the number key, it changes the character that was previously set.
