[. . . ] Follow the detergent manufacturer’s recommendations based on the weight of the laundry, the degree of soiling, and the hardness of the water in your area. If you do not know how hard your water is, enquire at your local water authority. Do not use detergent that has hardened or solidified as the detergent may remain in the rinse cycle. It may cause your washing machine to not rinse properly or result in the overflow becoming blocked. When using powdered detergent it is recommended that the powder be dissolved in warm water to ensure optimum cleaning results. Using the detergent drawer Your washing machine has separate compartments for dispensing detergent and fabric softener. Add all laundry additives to the correct compartments before starting your washing machine. CAUTION: Do not open the detergent drawer while the washing machine is running. When washing large items, do not use the following types of detergent. • Tablet and capsule type detergent • Detergent using a ball and net Prewash detergent compartment: Detergent for prewash, or starch. Main wash detergent compartment: Detergent for the main wash, water softener, pre-soaking agent, bleach and stain remover. Softener compartment: Fabric softener (fill no higher than the MAX line. 1. Pull out the detergent drawer at the top left of the washing machine. 2. Add the recommended amount of laundry detergent into the main wash detergent compartment before starting your washing machine. To use liquid detergent, use the liquid detergent guide (refer to the “Using liquid detergent (selected models)“ section on page 22). Do not add powder detergent with the liquid detergent guide. When using the Prewash function, add the recommended amount of laundry detergent into the prewash detergent compartment . Be careful that the fabric softener does not overflow when you close the detergent drawer after adding fabric softener into the softener compartment.
