[. . . ] Brew coffee into the cup. 18 BEVERAGE SETTINGS BEVERAGE PROGRAMMING MENU Every beverage may be programmed according to your individual tastes. 8:30 am 15/06/06 Once a beverage has been customized, the machine will use these saved settings when brewing that particular beverage. To program a beverage: 8:30 am 15/06/06 Hold down the desired beverage icon for two seconds 19 COFFEE SETTINGS In this phase you can: 1 2 coffee adjust the quantity of coffee to be ground (opti-dose) select the use of preground coffee save settings exit without saving 8:30 am 15/06/06 Enter the menu of the coffee to be customized (press the corresponding icon for two seconds). 3 coffee 4 After pressing "start!", the machine will perform a brewing cycle. coffee custom coffee dose start! standard coffee dose By pressing "start!" the machine will perform a brewing cycle. The machine will automatically start and finish a brewing cycle according to the standard settings. To brew a different amount of coffee than the one preset by the manufacturer, press "custom coffee dose" before the end of the brewing cycle in progress. If the "stop coffee" icon is not pressed the coffee may overflow. 5 coffee custom coffee dose 6 coffee Possible options are as follows: Press Press Press to save the currently set quantity; to exit without saving; to go back to the programming menu. Once brewing is complete, you must press within five seconds to save this custom coffee dose setting. 20 PROGRAMMING THE MACHINE MACHINE SETTINGS Some of the machine's functions may be programmed according to your individual preferences. 8:30 am 15/06/06 Press "menu". main menu beverage settings (see page 23) time/date settings (see page 24): - current date and time; - stand-by timer; - Switch on/off (stand-by) times over a day. main menu machine settings (see page 21) maintenance settings (see page 26) exit It allows displaying texts if there are associated icons, and switch menu mode from icons to text. reset factory settings (see page 29) previous page After having set each of the following menus, press - exit to return to the previous screen WITHOUT saving the new settings; to save; to return to the main menu WITHOUT saving the new settings. 21 MACHINE SETTINGS To change the machine operation settings, press "machine settings" on the main menu. This function allows you to set the menu language and the display contrast. language English language & display Change the display language. contrast 10 / 15 Adjust the contrast of the display. alerts and acoustic settings This function activates/deactivates the acoustic tones. machine ready on Activate/deactivate a tone every time the machine is ready. key tone on Activate/deactivate a tone every time an icon is pressed. cup-warming surface This function allows you to control the cup warming surface. always on Cup warming surface is always on when the machine is not in stand-by mode. Cup warming surface is always off. always off 22 PROGRAMMING THE MACHINE MACHINE SETTINGS water settings This function allows you to set various water settings. rinse on Activate/deactivate the rinse function to briefly clean the internal circuits of the machine. Note: the rinse cycle is performed every time the machine is started up, after the warming phase. water filter off Activate/deactivate the warning to replace the water filter. Important note. This setting automatically adjusts the parameters which allow the user to perform correct machine maintenance. Select "on": only when the water filter is installed in the water tank as shown on page 7. This function is automatically activated after selecting "reload water filter". Select "off": when there is no water filter in the water tank. Select "reload water filter" : when a new water filter is installed in the water tank. NOTE: if the water filter is not available, insert the small white filter previously removed (see step 1 - page 7) into the tank. water hardness 3/4 Adjust the machine's water hardness setting. Measure the water hardness as shown on page 6. 23 BEVERAGE SETTINGS This menu allows you to adjust the general brew parameters of the various types of coffee. Press "beverage settings" on the main menu. espresso coffee Select a beverage to adjust the specific functions and settings. long coffee prebrewing strong Prebrewing slightly dampens the coffee grounds before brewing so as to bring out the full aroma of the coffee and enhance the flavor. Strong: prebrewing is longer in order to bring out the full coffee taste. Temperature for brewing coffee. temperature medium aroma medium Aroma adjusts the quantity of coffee to be ground, or sets the use of pre-ground coffee. With this function, you can customize the coffee dose for each beverage to suite your taste. You can also choose to brew decaffeinated coffee using the pre-ground function (see page 8). coffee volume The coffee volume (water quantity) to be used for preparing coffee. Note: adjust the quantity according to the cups you will use. The current setting is shown next to each function. 24 PROGRAMMING THE MACHINE TIME/DATE SETTINGS In this menu, you can set the current time, the stand-by timer and the energy saving function. [. . . ] Do not pull out the plug by yanking on the power cord or touching it with wet hands. Danger of burning when in contact with hot water, steam and the hot water spout. FAILURES · Do not use the appliance if a failure has been verified or suspected, for example after being dropped. · Any repairs must be performed by an authorized customer service center.
