[. . . ] Disconnecting your saw will prevent accidental starting that could cause serious injury. WARNING: Make sure the spindle lock button is not engaged before reconnecting saw into power source. Never engage spindle lock button when blade is rotating. ADJUSTMENTS Note: Many of the illustrations in this manual show only portions of your compound miter saw. This is intentional so that we can clearly show points being made in the illustrations. Never operate your saw without all guards securely in place and in good operating condition. MITER FENCE MITER TABLE FRAMING SQUARE SQUARING THE MITER TABLE TO THE FENCE See Figures 17 - 20. Note: See page19 for Cutting a Slot in the Zero Clearance Throat Plate. Unplug your saw. MITER LOCK PLATE ZERO CLEARANCE THROAT PLATE MITER LOCK HANDLE VIEW OF MITER TABLE SQUARE WITH FENCE Fig. 17 Page 15 ADJUSTMENTS Push down on the saw arm and pull out the lock pin to release the saw arm. Depress the miter lock plate and rotate the miter table until the pointer on the control arm is positioned at 0°. Release the miter lock plate and securely tighten the miter lock handle. Place the other leg of the square beside the zero clearance throat plate in the miter table. The edge of the square and the zero clearance throat plate in the miter table should be parallel as shown in figure 19. If the edge of the framing square and the zero clearance throat plate in the miter table are not parallel as shown in figures 18 and 19, adjustments are needed. Using the blade wrench provided, loosen the socket head screws securing the fence. Adjust the fence left or right until the framing square and zero clearance throat plate are parallel. Retighten the screws securely and recheck the fenceto-table alignment. WARNING: Failure to unplug your saw could result in accidental starting causing possible serious personal injury. Pull the saw arm all the way down and engage the lock pin to hold the saw arm in transport position. Depress the miter lock plate and rotate the miter table until the pointer on the control arm is positioned at 0°. Release the miter lock plate and securely tighten the miter lock handle. Note: Make sure that the square contacts the flat part of the saw blade, not the blade teeth. FRAMING SQUARE ZERO CLEARANCE THROAT PLATE VIEW OF MITER TABLE NOT SQUARE WITH FENCE, ADJUSTMENTS ARE REQUIRED Fig. [. . . ] Never use tool with a damaged cord since touching the damaged area could cause electrical shock resulting in serious injury. GENERAL Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use clean cloths to remove dirt, carbon dust, etc. WARNING: Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields during power tool operation or when blowing dust. If operation is dusty, also wear a dust mask. WARNING: Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleumbased products, penetrating oils, etc. [. . . ]
