Proper interpretation of these symbols will allow you to operate the tool better and more safely. Your manual contains special messages to bring attention to potential safety concerns as well as operating and servicing information. [. . . ] NOTE: When converting from brushcutter to trimmer, or trimmer to brushcutter, make sure the correct guard/ deflector is being used. Attach the blade guard (5) to the mounting bracket (30); install the four screws (10-24 x 3/4 in) from the top of the mounting clamp through the blade guard and into the threaded mounting plates (32). NOTE: When using the string head (36), the grass deflector (14) must be attached to blade guard. Place the upper flange washer over the gear shaft with the hollow side towards the blade guard. centre the blade on the upper flange , making sure the blade sits flat. Install the cupped washer (40) with the raised centre away from the blade. The blade (6) turns counterclockwise from the operator's position. Place the holding pin through the slot in the upper flange washer and the hole in the gear head (7). Using the 13 mm wrench (42) supplied, turn the blade nut counterclockwise. Attach the grass deflector (14) to the blade guard by placing the three locking tabs (33) into the three notches (31). WARNING Always stop the engine and remove the sparking plug wire before making any adjustments such as changing cutting heads; this is to reduce the risk of serious personal injury. Place the holding pin through the slot in the upper flange washer and the gear head. Remove the upper flange washer from the gear shaft and retain for the string head installation. Attach the grass deflector to the blade guard by placing the three locking tabs into the three notches. Hold the trimmer with the right hand on the trigger handle and the left hand on the left handle. Trimmer should be held at a comfortable position with the trigger handle about hip height. This will prevent grass from wrapping around the shaft housing and string head which may cause damage from overheating. If grass becomes wrapped around the string head, stop the engine, disconnect the spark plug wire, and remove the grass. Prolonged cutting at partial throttle will result in oil dripping from the silencer. Hold the brushcutter with the right hand on the trigger handle and the left hand on the left handle. Brushcutter should be held at a comfortable position with the trigger handle about hip height. Position yourself so that you will not be drawn off balance by the kick-back reaction of the cutting blade. [. . . ] Locate the spark arrester (28) through the hole on the muffler-side engine cover.
