The operation of a tool can result in foreign objects being projected into your eyes, resulting in severe eye injury. Before using your tool, put on safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields and a dust mask, if appropriate. If you wear glasses, you should wear a visor or standard safety glasses with side shields over them READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS · Find out about the tool's applications and its limitations as well as the potential hazards associated with the tool. [. . . ] Do not use power tools near petrol or other flammable liquids, in damp or wet conditions, or expose them to rain. All visitors should wear safety glasses and be kept at a safe distance from the work area. Do not let visitors touch the tool or the extension cable when the tool is operating. ENSURE THAT THE WORKSHOP IS SAFE FOR CHILDREN by using padlocks and master switches or removing on/off keys. The tool will be more efficient and safer when used at the speed for which it was designed. Do not force the tool or attachment to do a job it was not designed for. Do not use them for any purpose other than those intended by the manufacturer. When using an extension cord, be sure to use one with adequate wattage rating. An undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage resulting in loss of power and overheating. When the tool is used outdoors, use only earthed extension cords that are approved for outdoor use and marked as such. Do not wear loose clothing, gloves, ties, rings, bracelets or other jewellery. Refer to them frequently and use them to instruct others who may use this tool. If you lend this tool to someone, lend them these instructions as well. Due to Ryobi's ongoing product improvement policy, tool features and specifications are likely to change without notice. Use the spanner to loosen the three securing nuts on the blade holder. WARNING: Be careful when removing or replacing a blade as it is extremely sharp and could cause serious injury if mishandled. To start your planer, depress the safety switch and trigger switch simultaneously. CAUTION: Do not turn the depth adjustment knob more than the maximum planing depth of 2 mm Your Ryobi planer is designed with left and right chip deflector outlets for controlling the direction of chips when working in confined areas. Before you start planing, select the left or right outlet by rotating the chip deflector lever accordingly. With one hand holding the depth adjustment knob and the other gripping the handle, place the front shoe on the edge of the piece to be planed, ensuring it is perfectly flat. Before starting the planer, make sure the blades are not in contact with the workpiece. Position the planer so that the front shoe is perfectly flat and level with the piece to be worked. [. . . ] For easier and more precise chamfering, use the chamfering guide as illustrated in Fig. Your Ryobi planer is designed to accept a dust bag which can be fitted to the left or right chip deflector outlet as illustrated in Fig. To inspect or replace the driving belt, remove the driving belt cover by loosening the screw as shown in Fig. Ensure that the driving belt cover is securely put back before beginning operation.
