Do not attempt to remove cut material or hold material to be cut when blades are moving. Make sure battery pack is removed and the trigger is released when clearing jammed material from blades. Do not grasp the exposed cutting blades or cutting edges when picking up or holding the unit. Service or maintenance performed by unqualified personnel could result in a risk of injury to the user, or damage to the unit. Use of unauthorized parts or failure to follow Maintenance Instructions may create a risk of shock or serious injury to the user, or damage to the unit. For longest life and easiest trimming, the blades should be cleaned if sap and debris have built up, or if you live in an area where the soil is sandy. A new set of blades at the beginning of each season will speed cutting and extend the life of your grass shear. Rotate the large gear to line up the gear post with the slot in the blade. NOTE: If binding occurs after replacing the blade assembly, repeat the steps under "Replacing the Blade" section.
