Manual abstract: user guide RYOBI JS45

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Do not operate this unit when you are tired, ill, or under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication. Never let anyone use your unit who has not received adequate instructions in the unit's proper use. Before you start the unit, make sure the blade is not contacting any object. Stop the unit, remove the battery pack, and make sure the blade has stopped before setting the unit down. [. . . ] Ensure that battery terminals cannot be shorted by other metal parts such as screws, nails, etc. Disconnect the tool from its battery pack when not in use, before service and when changing accessories such as blades, bits and cutters. Form the habit of checking to see that keys and adjusting wrenches are removed from the tool before turning it on. Repairs should only be carried out by qualified persons using original spare parts, otherwise this may result in considerable danger to the user. Failure to do so may cause poor performance, possible injury and may void your warranty When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. Keep a good firm grip on the unit with both hands when operating the unit. Place your right hand on the rear handle and the left hand on the front handle. a firm grip will help you reduce kickback and maintain control of the unit. Make sure that the area in which you are cutting is free from obstructions. Do not let the blade come in contact with any obstruction while operating the unit. Keep everyone - helpers, bystanders, children, and animals a safe distance, of at least 15 m (50 ft. Always cut with both feet on solid ground to prevent being pulled off balance. Cut only when visibility and light are adequate for you to see clearly. Use your right hand to firmly grip the rear handle while your left hand has a firm grip on the front handle. Accelerate the unit to full throttle just before entering the cut by squeezing the throttle trigger. The most typical cutting application is to position the unit at an angle of 60° or less, depending on the specific situation. The long reach of the unit allows the operator to prune branches or limbs that are normally out of reach. Cutting lower branches first will allow the top branches more room to fall. When pruning trees it is important not to make the flush cut next to the main limb or trunk until you have cut off the limb further out to reduce the weight. Underbuck the branch 1/4 way through for your first cut, your second cut should overbuck to drop the branch off. Now make your final cut smoothly and neatly against the main member so the bark will grow back to seal the wound. [. . . ] store the pole pruner in a dry , well-ventilated place that is inaccessible to children. Keep away from corrosive agents such as garden chemicals and de-icing salts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. WARNING Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-based products, penetrating oils, etc. [. . . ]
