[. . . ] The alternate modes that are useful during installation are: INIT -- Default All Parameters - to set all modes to their factory-default states. PROC -- allows turning off the sync and burst processor so that the original sync and burst signals can be observed on the PGM output. TIME -- causes the switcher to automatically switch back and forth between inputs on the PGM and PST busses. This saves having to do the switching manually during timing adjustments. The use of these modes is described fully under "Alternate Functions" later in this section. RVS 210A Installation Manual 5-4 Default States SYSTEM SET UP AND TIMING Default States As stated above, the alternate operating modes are set to default states when the switcher leaves the factory. The "Default All Parameters" function causes all programmable modes to be returned to these default states. When the switcher is powered up or manually reset, the "last state" of each programmable mode is remembered by the switcher. For this reason, power up and reset do not change the modes to their default states and, of course, there is no change to mode states set by hardware switches. All panel lights will extinguish except for the lamps in the BLACK buttons on the KEY, PGM, and PST busses. 2) Press one of the buttons on the KEY bus having the desired function marked above the button (as shown in Figure 5-3), or one of certain other similarly marked buttons such as WIPE LIMIT and LEARN KEYS in the MLE Transition module. 3) Perform other operations required by the particular function selected. This may involve secondary selections on the PST bus push-buttons or use of the Auto Transition display and controls. The units SET button of the Auto Transition display is used to cycle from one state to the other within a mode. NOTE: Throughout the procedures, the bottom row of crosspoint push-buttons will be referred to as the PST bus even though one of the alternate modes PGM/PST Bus Reverse, allows the PGM and PST busses to be reversed. Regardless of this bus interchange, the particular push-buttons on the bottom row retain their alternate functions. 4) In most cases, the MODIFY mode is abandoned or terminated by pressing the MODIFY button a second time. When the MODIFY mode is terminated, the system will return to normal operation with all panel indications restored to the condition that existed before the MODIFY mode was entered. RVS 210A Installation Manual 5-6 Alternate Functions SYSTEM SET UP AND TIMING Alternate Functions INIT - Default All Parameters The "INIT - Default All Parameters" mode stores the current switcher set up condition in all 12 switcher memory locations and resets all programmable functions in the switcher to the default states, as listed earlier. Figure 5-3 below shows the KEY and PST bus push-buttons to select to enable this mode. IMPORTANT: Because this mode is destructive, an escape has been provided in case it is accidentally enabled. [. . . ] This error is corrected by properly setting the appropriate delay switches on the 2210-44 circuit board. These switches are located as shown in Figure 6-6 on the following page. The switches are configured as follows: S1A = 100 ns S2A = 400 ns S3A = 10 ns S4A = 40 ns S1B = 200 ns S2B = 800 ns S3B = 20 ns S4B = 80 ns Setting a switch "on" adds the indicated amount of delay to the chroma key timing. NOTE: Remember to switch off the system power when removing or replacing circuit boards.
