[. . . ] r® Owner's Manual WARNING To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this device to rain or moisture. CAUTION RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK DO NOT OPEN ATTENTION: RISQUE DE CHOC ELECTRIQUE NE PAS OUVRIR CAUTION: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT REMOVE COVER (OR BACK). REFER SERVICING TO QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL. The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol, within an equilateral triangle, is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated "dangerous voltage" within the product's enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to persons. The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the product. INSTRUCTIONS PERTAINING TO A RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURY TO PERSONS. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS WARNING When using electric products, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following: Read these instructions. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat. [. . . ] G INSTR VOLUME--This parameter duplicates the VOLUME parameter on the PALETTE page. The reason why it's also available here is that some equalizer settings may lead to rather noticeable level drops or hikes. G HI FREQ HZ (1500, 2000, 3000, 4000, 6000, 8000, 12000)--This parameter allows you to set the cutoff frequency of the high band (this is a shelving filter). G HI GAIN DB (15~15dB)--Use this parameter to set the level of the selected HI frequency. Positive values boost (increase the volume of) that frequency, negative values cut (attenuate) it. G MID FREQ HZ (200~8000Hz)--This parameter allows you to set the cutoff frequency of the middle band (this is a peaking filter). In this state, you cannot edit the drum instrument's equalizer, because you chose to bypass it. Careful, though: this setting is saved along with the other song or Style data when you press the [SAVE] field here. Note: If you hear no difference between "Glbl" and "Off", the Drum Set's equalizer (on the PALETTE page) is set to [OFF]. If you want to take advantage of the drum instrument's equalizer and edit it to your liking. . . r 146 E-80 Music Workstation r Using the Makeup Tools G MID Q (0. 5, 1, 2, 4, 8)--Use this parameter to specify the width of the MID FREQ band that you want to boost or cut. Smaller values mean that neighboring frequencies above/below that value are also affected. G MID GAIN DB (15~15dB)--Use this parameter to set the level of the selected MID frequency. Positive values boost (increase the volume of) that frequency, negative values cut (attenuate) it. G LO FREQ HZ (90, 150, 180, 300, 360, 600)--This parameter allows you to set the cutoff frequency of the low band (this is a shelving filter). G LO GAIN DB (15~15dB)--Use this parameter to set the level of the selected LO frequency. Positive values boost (increase the volume of) that frequency, negative values cut (attenuate) it. G REVERB TYPE--This parameter allows you to specify what kind of reverb effect you need. The available reverb types are: Room1, Room2, Room3 Hall1, Hall2 Plate Delay These types simulate the reverb characteristics of a room. The higher the number (1 or 2), the bigger the "room" becomes. These types simulate the reverb of a small (1) or large (2) concert hall and thus sound much "bigger" than the Room types above. This is another SRV algorithm that simulates the acoustics of a concert hall. Works a lot like an echo effect and thus repeats the sounds. · · · · · · If you like your equalizer settings so much that you also want to use them for other drum instruments, proceed as follows: Set the EQ parameters to your liking. Press the [Back] field and use the [ø][°] buttons to select the drum instrument that should use the same settings. Press the EQUALIZER [EDIT] field to call up the INSTRUMENT EQUALIZER page. Press the [PASTE¥VALUES] field to assign the equalizer settings to the newly selected drum instrument. If necessary, press the [SAVE] field to save your settings (page 148). Pan Delay This is a stereo version of the above Delay effect.
