Before using this unit, carefully read the sections entitled · IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS (page 2) · USING THE UNIT SAFELY (page 4­6) · IMPORTANT NOTES (page 7) Additionally, in order to feel assured that you have gained a good grasp of every feature provided by your new unit, Owner's manual should be read in its entirety. The manual should be saved and kept on hand as a convenient reference. * This manual applies to the D-BASS 210/115/115X. 210/115 115X Contents IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [. . . ] · Speaker amplitude linearity is improved, producing a tight, powerful sound with better contour. In particular, this technology provides faithful reproduction of the low end for basses with Low-B string. · This allows the range of frequencies reproduced to be extended further in the low end, expanding the frequency range of the bass sound. · The speakers are drives in a way that creates a sound truer to the input signal, providing with greater responsiveness. FFP (Feed Forward Processing) is system control technology that optimizes the performance of the amp, speakers, and cabinet characteristics according to the signals being input, based on the results of analyses of the operation and behavior of each section of existing amp systems. 8 Main Features D-BASS 210/115 Also Features Piezo Input Jack for Acoustic Basses · The D-BASS is equipped with a Ultra-high-impedance piezo input jack, allowing piezo pickups to be directly connected to the amp. This makes the amp optimal for acoustic basses as well. D-BASS 115X The Optimal Powered Extension Speaker for the D-BASS 210/115 · Connect the D-BASS 115X to D-BASS 210/115 to create an even more powerful system. · The speaker is designed to allow a D-BASS 210/115 to be set (stacked) on top of it. · The D-BASS 115X can also be used effectively as an expansion speaker with other small bass amps. fig. 00-05 COSM Preamps for a Wide Range of Sound Possibilities · The D-BASS features three COSM preamp types, including not just VINTAGE and MODERN for standard bass sounds, but also a SUPER FLAT model, which faithfully recreates the characteristics of the bass instrument. Use these with the "Shape" function, which offers a broader range of tonal variation, to create sounds suited to any style of music. · The front panel includes three-band EQ with variable midrange frequency, a dedicated Tweeter Control for precise adjustments in the high end, and other controls that provide you with complete freedom to create a wide variety of bass sounds. · In addition to standard solid-state compression, these amps feature a Tube Logic mode, which provides the fat, natural-sounding compression characteristic of tube amps. This lets you achieve the sort of compression that you get when you slightly overdrive a vintage bass amp, accompanied with fat harmonics. (Example) D-BASS 210 + 115X 210/115 115X Mute Function · The D-BASS is equipped with a Mute switch, making it simple to mute the speakers and all outputs other than the Tuner Out. This lets you plug and unplug the bass noiselessly and tune silently with a tuner connected to the Tuner Out jack. · You can also turn this switch on and off with your foot by connecting a foot switch (BOSS FS-5L: optional). FULL RANGE and SUB WOOFER Modes · The speaker can be switched to and from Full Range mode, which enables the tweeter control, and Sub Woofer mode, which allows you to set the frequency. These can be expanded flexibly to fit different stage setups and match the playing style. THRU OUT Jack · The D-BASS 115X features a THRU OUT jack, which splits the input signal, allowing you to use multiple DBASS 115Xs simultaneously. You can also use this jack to combine the D-BASS 115X with other amps and subwoofers for an even more powerful system compatible with venues of any size. Full Complement of Input and Output Connectors · The amp is equipped with a full set of jacks and connectors, including switchable XLR connectors, which can be used as Line Outs or Direct Outs, Tuner Out, Effect Loop, Line Out, Sub Out (expansion jack for connecting to the D-BASS 115X), Mute foot switch jack, and more. The Effect Loop jacks accommodate the connection of both series and parallel effects. COSM (Composite Object Sound Modeling) is Roland's innovative and powerful sound modeling technology. COSM analyzes the many factors that make up the original sound, such as the electrical and physical characteristics of the original, and then produces a digital model that can reproduce the same sound. 9 Panel descriptions D-BASS 210/115 Front Panel 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 210/115 1. This section features two jacks, PIEZO and NORMAL. PIEZO jack: Connect acoustic or electric basses equipped with piezo pickups to this jack. The ultra-high impedance circuitry provides a clear sound with minimal degradation in tone. * Inputting in excess of the optimal level can cause unintended distortion and may prevent the COMPRESSION effect from functioning properly. Setting the level too low results in excess residual background noise. * Be sure to check the input level each time you connect a different bass or have an effects device connected between the bass and the amp. NORMAL jack: Connect electric basses equipped with magnetic pickups to this jack. [. . . ] · As you listen to the overall combined tone from the 210/115 and the 115X, adjust the TWEETER LEVEL knob. Use a lower setting if there is excessive reverberation in the high end. If you have trouble eliminating the muffled sound, use a higher setting. Adjusting in SUB WOOFER Mode · As you listen to the overall combined tone from the 210/115 and the 115X, adjust the tone with the VOLUME and FREQUENCY knobs.
