To protect against fire, electric shock and personal injury, do not immerse hot pot, its cord or plug in water or other liquid. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature. POLARIZED PLUG BEFORE USE Clean unit thoroughly. Any smoke or odor is normal and will not recur after a few uses. TO BOIL WATER NOTE: Do not use for heating oil or butter. Fill hot pot with the amount of cold water needed or to the Maximum Fill Indicator located on the inside of the unit. To avoid burns or other injuries, extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot or boiling liquids. Keep away from children when operating. TO HEAT MILK OR CANNED CONVENIENCE FOODS Place food in unit. To avoid spilling of hot liquid/ food, keep cover in place while pouring. If you use plastic tools, make sure they are suitable for use on hot surfaces. Open cover carefully to let steam escape safely. TO CLEAN NOTE: Always unplug unit before washing. DO NOT use abrasive cleaners on non-stick cook surface or any plastic piece. NEVER use abrasive powder cleaners or metal scouring pads as these will damage the non-stick coating. IMPORTANT A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from entanglement or tripping over a longer cord. An extension cord may be used with care however, the marked electrical rating should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the hot pot. The extension cord should not be allowed to drape over the counter or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over. Do not allow the extension cord to hang over the edge of the counter, where it may be grabbed by children or become entangled with the user. LIMITED ONE-YEAR WARRANTY Rival warrants this product to be free from defects in materials or workmanship for one (1) year from date of original purchase.
