After you enter the codes for your original remotes, the 7-in-One IR/RF Remote is ready to operate the original remotes' most used functions. USING THE SLEEP FUNCTION The 7-in-One has a SLEEP key that either operates your component's sleep timer, or your component does not have a sleep timer, it activates the 7-in-One's built-in sleep timer. To activate your device's sleep timer, press SLEEP (SHIFT + MUTE). Most sleep timers advance in increments of 10 or 15 minutes. For specific instructions on setting your device's sleep timer, refer to the device's owner's manual. If you would like to use the 7-in-One's built in sleep timer on all of your devices, you can lock the sleep mode. Now, whenever you press SLEEP (SHIFT + MUTE), the 7-InOne will use its own built-in timer. When setting up the Home Theater mode, you choose which devices will control volume, channel changing, playback, picture-in-picture, and menu functions. Press SELECT then the appropriate device key (TV, CBL, SAT, VCR, CD, or TUNER) to select the device that you want to control audio features in Home Theater mode, then press SELECT. Press SELECT, then the appropriate device key to select the device that you want to change channels in Home Theater mode. Press SELECT, then CD or VCR to select the device that you want to control the transport keys (PLAY, REW, FFWD, PAUSE, STOP, REC) in Home Theater mode. As a safety feature on the 7-in-One, you must press the REC key twice to begin recording. Due to RCA design (19831987), only the original remote will operate these functions.
