[. . . ] The Create Header selection supports an absolute pathname, that is, you can enter a full pathname in the dialog box to set the destination of the file or folder. This action is used to extract any MXF file's header metadata into a separate file. This separate file is user specified to contain binary or XML data as configured (see SDLT 600A options on page 61). Select the MXF file for which metadata is to be extracted and then select the Create Header item from the Contextual menu. The result of this command is a virtual file. This file can be in text format (xml) or binary format depending on the setup option (see SDLT 600A options on page 61). Once the file is transferred, the MXF header file is saved to your local disk. This will open a pop-up window (see figure 61) to erase the entire tape after your confirmation. Warning: All existing data on the media cartridge will be overwritten and all existing data on the file system will be overwritten when you click Erase tape. This will open a pop-up information window (figure 64) to give information about the tape identifier and how space is utilized on the tape as follows. · · Media ID -- This ID is linked to the cartridge generated after the first initialization. The ID never reset. Tape space -- This indicates the total space used on the tape and the total free space available on it (the native capacity after an erase operation is 300 GB). EMAM space -- This indicates the total number of entries used in the file system and the total free space available in the file system. Files inventory -- This indicates the number of entries in the file · · system for each file type; MXF files, non MXF files, directories, deleted files, virtual files (virtual files are created by a partial restore command or by a create header command: virtual file exist only into the file system and are not stored on tape). The number of directories takes into account the two system folders: / and /Trash.
