[. . . ] Squelch does not effect neither sound nor transmission power, but allows a considerable improvement in listening comfort. The two keys, «CH v» and «CH w» on the microphone and on the front panel, allow you to go up and down the channels. «CH w» key : one quick press allows you to go down by one channel, continued pression allows you to descend five channels per second. «CH v» key : one quick press allows you to go up by one channel, continued pression allows you to ascend five channels per second. It gives better quality of communication (squelch adjustment needs more finesse). This function lets you watch over Channels 9 AM and 19 AM and the channel you are using. The set goes to and from the two channels (approximately 0, 5 second per channel) and stops on the one where a signal is detected (reception level defined by squelch). Dual Watch restarts five seconds after the end of the signal, unless you go into transmission. Press the DW key to watch over Channel 19 AM and the channel you are using. Press the key a second time to activate a watch over Channel 9 and the channel you are using. The bargraph shows the level of reception and the level of power emitted. Channels 9 AM and 19 AM are automatically selected when you depress this key. A second depression of this key activates Channel 9 AM and "EMG" remains in the display.
