[. . . ] · If the ESPRESSO 2000 is left unused, always disconnect it from the mains. · In case of breakdown or malfunction switch off the appliance and never attempt to disassemble it, but refer to an authorized service center. · Never direct the jet of steam towards people, animals or small particles of debris without first protecting the user's eyes. I M P O R TA N T · In the case of machine breakdown or malfunction, do not attempt to repair the machine but contact your nearest Polti Service Centre. · If you need to replace the power supply cable contact only a POLTI Authorised Service Centre or qualified electrician. [. . . ] 5 3a) Insert the filter holder under the water heating chamber (8) and fix it there by rotating it from left to right until it locks on (fig. 4a) Locate a cup exactly under the filter holder, or 2 cups one on the right and one on the left, corresponding with the holes in the filter holder (fig. 5). Espresso 2000 ENGLISH 5a) Press the coffee dispenser button (4). In a few moments the coffee will start to come through the filter holder. When you have the desired quantity of coffee, press the button (4) again to stop dispensing. 6a) Detach the filter holder by moving right to left and empty the remains of the coffee. When not in use, we recommend you dismantle the filter holder from the machine to avoid any risk of mis-shaping. Note: By varying the dosage quantity of coffee and the degree of grinding with a stronger or less strong pressing, you can vary the aroma of your espresso. For the best flavour, we recommend you preheat the coffee cups, and that you use fine porcelain cups. P R E PA R AT I O N U S I N G C O F F E E S A C H E T S As well as the usual ways of preparation, ESPRESSO 2000 can also take prepared sachets, which guarantee the correct quantity, grinding and compression and peak flavour from its sealed hygienic sachet. Each sachet is for a single cup of coffee, guaranteeing consistent peak quality every time. For this purpose Polti has created the special holder for coffee sachets. Follow the instructions as in "preparation for use", then proceed as follows: 1b) Insert the sachet in the special filter holder for sachets (17) (fig. 2b) Insert the filter holder under the water heating chamber (8) and rotate it left to right until it locks on. Note: While dispensing, you will experience a slight escape of water droplets from the top part of the filter holder. This is due to a capillary effect on the sachet bag material, and is perfectly normal. 4b) Detach the filter holder by rotating right to left and then remove the used sachet. If the bag remains attached to the bottom of the water chamber, just operate the machine for a few seconds and it will then be easily removed. Note: If there is to be a little time before preparation of the next coffee, we recommend you leave the filter holder fixed to the bottom of the water heating chamber so as to keep it hot and assure best results for the next cup of coffee. Fig. [. . . ] Lack of water is also signified by the indicator light (3) showing a red light. The audible signal and indicator light are pre-set to come in to operation at the point where there is minimal water in the tank. This is to ensure that ESPRESSO 2000 is never completely empty of water. Espresso 2000 ENGLISH FILLING THE TANK AFTER THE NO WATER SIGNAL It is a fundamental principle to always switch off ESPRESSO 2000 at the general ON/OFF switch (1) before refilling. For this reason the appliance is fitted with a safety device, which will not allow the machine to be used if it has not been first switched off and then switched on again. [. . . ]
