If you wish to use liquid detergent, apply it to the cloth, not the appliance. to remove crumbs from the appliance , brush the cooking surfaces gently. Never put a hard or pointed metal object into the toaster, as this is hazardous for the user and could damage it. IMPORTANT: The plates on the appliance are coated with non-stick material. IMPORTANT: the first time you use the appliance, grease the cooking surfaces slightly and do not eat the first sandwich. Operate the appliance for about 10 minutes with the toasting compartment closed, and then wipe it with a damp cloth.
