The AP-2 automatically handles hook switch control so there is no longer any need to remove/replace the handset when placing/ answering a call. The AP-2 also ensures that ringing indication is heard in the headset for an incoming call. The answer/end button on the headset changes just the phone hookswitch status. Note: There is a small delay between pressing the headset button and the call being answered or ended on the phone. When you press the talk button or dock the headset in the base to end a call, the phone hookswitch status changes and the link is dropped. The AP-2 then automatically re-instates the link so there is always a link between base and headset even when the headset is docked in the base. When returning the headset to the base it should be noted that this will cause the phone to change hookswitch status.
