If you press the button while sewing, the machine will finish the stitch, make a tie-off and cut the threads. If you press this button while sewing, the machine finishes the stitch its own and makes a tie-off. If you press it once you have stopped the machine, it goes back to the beginning of that stitch. Each buttonhole is especially adapted for a particular use and fabric type. You can read about the different buttonholes in the overview in chapter 1.
